As long as St George has slain him by midnight.

A rose would have been nice, but a dragon will do. At least they remembered - poor St George, his day usually drifts by virtually unnoticed.

Traditionally it is a red rose for St. George's Day. My grandparents always wore one to celebrate the day, as did many of their peers - and they were quite expensive in those days too. smile

If that works then St George is a hero!

dragon hissssss!!!! Are you calling me evil, ma'am?! (says the dragon)

Penstemmon Tue 22-Apr-14 23:02:03

I quite like the dragon..but I am just saying.....

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 22:54:49

Hands off the dragon! He is an old friend now that he is in his third year.

Penstemmon Tue 22-Apr-14 22:48:16

Should have been a knight ! I am sure that is not impossible!

If we are being picky the dragon ought to be dead as it represented evil and St G the goodness that overcame it!

rosequartz Tue 22-Apr-14 21:58:33

Although rosesarered may not agree
grin

rosequartz Tue 22-Apr-14 21:57:50

Quartz colour? Pink?

POGS Tue 22-Apr-14 20:55:44

rosequartz

Steady on, there could now be a 'debate 'lasting two days about whether it will be a white or red rose. wink

rosequartz Tue 22-Apr-14 20:38:34

What about a nice rose? grin

janerowena Tue 22-Apr-14 19:15:51

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 18:01:23

Can't. Not can!

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 18:00:55

I just tried. No good.

I can trust my head these days and that lot at HQ aren't up to chatting at the mo. hmm

Ana Tue 22-Apr-14 17:56:31

Don't think so. How would we find out? Have to trawl the archives, I suppose...hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 17:50:55

I thought we had the Dragon for St George's day last year.

Ana Tue 22-Apr-14 16:25:26

Don't think we've ever had anything for St George's Day before, have we?
Must be why they gave us the daffodil for St David's Day so they could save the dragon for now...

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 16:21:09

The Dragon. Not St David. He probably was.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 22-Apr-14 16:19:40

We had a daffodil for St David's day this year.

How can you tell he's Welsh?

rosesarered Tue 22-Apr-14 14:19:25

It was probably a Turkish dragon [ as St George was very likely to have been Turkish!] Dragon kebabs anyone? What are we talking about.......confused I mean, a dragon????? if he slew anything, it was probably a sheep, a fierce one, mind.

Aka Tue 22-Apr-14 14:09:46

Perhaps it was a Welsh dragon he slew/slayed?

rosesarered Tue 22-Apr-14 14:02:26

It's certainly a Welsh dragon, do we accept that for the patron saint of England?
