I can't believe....

Not po faced at all petallus. Don't like smut. That's all.

It was fun at the time. Some people seem to want to leap in to condemn without even having read the thread.

The thread arose in response to Fifty Shades of Grey fever. It was meant to be a lampoon of the book, nothing to do with love.

The thread did lose it's subtlety towards the end though.

I don't know why you've suddenly gone all po-faced jingle

Oh of course it's not you!

Exactly. Those you'd least expect...

BTW the 'Ana' in GN's adaptation of the thread is certainly not me! I think it was short for the 'Anastasia' in the novel.

I have only just read the thread - stayed away at the time as I knew it wouldn't be my thing. Quite surprised now I have read (some) of it.

Well, you never really know anyone on an online forum do you?

I don't give respect away that easily! Who does?

And yet so many well-respected GN members contributed to that thread. Voluntarily.

I agree with that grannytwice.

I really despise HQ for the topics they choose to upfront - it's usually cheap titilation or panders to negative images of us

Can't we leave the gigglie tee hee stuff to the much younger generation? ie the thirteen/fourteen year olds?

And do you really think this "Fifty Shades" stuff is worth putting on the 'front page' of Gransnet? For whatever reason?

I prefer humour to have a bit of subtlety, but each to her own of course.

I'd forgotten about the ending, and on second thoughts perhaps some of the newer, more sensitive members among us shouldn't be reading any of it at all!

On the other hand, I think it was an extremely funny and indeed witty thread!

I thought GNHQ had included it in the Newsletter because of the current hoo-ha about the Fifty Shades of Grey film, not because Valentine's Day is almost upon us...

And it was a thread that ended really badly.
