I'm seeing strange ones too, Soutra, a little blue and white dog-eared piece of paper followed by the word, smile, wink, etc.

They look normal on my tablet.

Might be something to do with the browser. I'm on Chrome - gonna log in on IE and see if it's the same. Watch this space....

They are coming up on my iPad as words in boxes instead of symbols. Will check with phone to see if that is the same -on phone (Samsung Galaxy's) they appear as blue question marks in a box! Sigh, how to confuse a Granny . . . .

Well here I am on IE and now, instead of the little piece of dog-eared paper, I have a rectangle with a black square inside with a white cross in it, followed by the word.

I have the icons on iPad but empty square boxes on iPhone
