At the moment we are having a chat on a thread about favourite mugs/cups and saucers, so how about us being to buy the Gransnet cup and saucer which we see in pics on the right hand side of the page?Any takers?

Very nice, but I think I would need something rather bigger. wink

It's too chunky for a cup. Might be nice in a mug. I use saucers as small plates for putting biscuits or cake on. Mugs don't need saucers but cups tend to break so one ends up with a lot of saucers small plates perfect for biscuits.

Oooh, I'd like a GN cup of my own... Possibly with a GN saucer as well. We'll have to have a team chat after the weekend.

Help, I can't see any cups or mugs - where are they?

On top of the books where it says 'Gransnet Recommended Reads' about two thirds down the rhs of the page, kitty.

I don't think it's a particularly attractive cup and saucer...

No, I agree Ana.

Thanks Ana, sorry I looked now, it's a bit like railway cafe ones used to be!! grin

No, wouldn't appeal to me either, so unless the team chat results in a more attractive design, I won't be buying!

A mug would be better, but the logo is fine, and if it was in china , that would be good.It could also have Keep Calm And Carry On on the other side.Even Keep Calm And Keep Eating Biscuits, or Let Them Eat Cake.

Kitty, if they remind you of railway cafés, you could buy two, pretend you're in Brief Encounter and DH is Trevor Howard!

as in " we will always have Swindon/Basingstoke Birmingham New Street" etc?

Remember those railway fruit pies (orchard pies) that you could buy from a machine on the station Platform? When you had eaten that, you could have your name stamped out on a thin metal strip for sixpence. What fun!
