I know exactly what you mean jings. We do become blind to lots of things. My daughter asked me to pick her up from a wedding at the weekend and told me the venue. I had no idea where it was, even when she explained it to me. "But Mum, you go past that place every week on the way to your camera club!" she said. She was right. I do. I had just never ever noticed it. It's in the middle of playing fields (which I do see), with a big entrance from the main road and a sign the size of a small shop front. Never seen it before
