Apart from spam, I don't remember reporting any posts.

Am I odd? How many/ often do you report and why? confused

Ana Wed 20-May-15 13:41:10

Too late now, Anya, you've outed yourself! grin

Anya Wed 20-May-15 13:39:38

Would it completely destroy my street cred if I confessed to reading it in the original French sad

Ana Wed 20-May-15 13:24:10

Blimey, just read a plot overview of Le Misanthrope and nearly lost the will to live...

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 13:23:33

wink

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 13:23:21

" Moliere's Le Misanthrope"

That's nice. smile hmm

Anya Wed 20-May-15 13:20:11

Academic nous is very over-rated.

Anya Wed 20-May-15 13:18:34

jingl sorry, but I did Drama subsid, so yes I do know him ... grovel apologetically

Much prefer his work to the likes of Moliere's Le Misanthrope, for example, which I expect would be more to someone else's taste hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 13:17:18

shock Perhaps I do not have the academic nous to be on GN!!!

Oh, I dunno though. I manage.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 13:16:11

Nope! Didn't have a clue. Googled it briefly, but can't remember what it said now. I work on a need to know basis.

Lilygran Wed 20-May-15 12:13:57

Surely, everyone knows who Rabelais was, jingl! Well, everyone does now.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 11:01:30

Did you really know who this chap, Rabelais was? Tell me you googled it. Please!

Anya Wed 20-May-15 10:32:53

I didn't take any offence to your post Ana I agree with Feetle about it all being 'good Rabelaisian knock-about stuff'.

Why am I being heckled by you Absent when all I commented on was your lack of a sense of bawdy humour! I know it's not to your taste and certain GNetters (who should be ashamed of themselves!!!) have offended your sensibilities.

merlotgran Wed 20-May-15 09:51:05

Moi? shock grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 20-May-15 09:26:09

Yep! It's that merlot causing trouble again.

innocent smile

Ana Wed 20-May-15 09:20:13

Nothing at all personal meant to be implied by my posts, Anya, I was just responding to jingl's and merlot's comments.

absent Wed 20-May-15 07:52:30

I have no idea what you mean Anya. I would say what? Please tell me what you mean if you disagree with what I have posted. Are you telling me that you think I am one of those that you have designated a bully, bitch or bootlicker? And why? I should really like to know.

Anya Wed 20-May-15 06:54:00

You would say that wouldn't you absent?

Feetle grin but didn't Rabelais have at least a sense of humour?

To misquote Shakespeare (Gertrude) 'the ladies protest too much, methinks' wink

feetlebaum Wed 20-May-15 06:27:29

All good Rabelaisian knock-about stuff!

absent Wed 20-May-15 05:42:49

Oh please don't pursue this line of thought.

Ana Tue 19-May-15 22:42:45

Yes indeed, merlot, two for the price of one! grin

merlotgran Tue 19-May-15 22:40:37

You'd be quids in if he/she had a curry flavoured arse!

Ana Tue 19-May-15 22:37:25

I've googled researched the difference between the two terms, and apparently a 'bootlicker' is someone who just wants to curry favour, whereas an 'arse-licker' does it for personal gain. I know the difference is subtle, but it's there!

absent Tue 19-May-15 22:35:25

You must know some very strange interesting women, jingl. grin

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 19-May-15 21:50:16

Perhaps it's best not to think of that one actually.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 19-May-15 21:49:34

Oh! It's just the way women talk. I usually think "arse lickers", which is much worse when you come to think of it.
