As we're sure you've heard by now (we may have mentioned it once or twice blush) we're very proud to say that our guide to the internet with Janet Ellis has been shortlisted for the Tech4Good digital skills award.

Take a look here for more information and details on how you can vote!

Sorry, but I think you missed a trick here. I've ignored this thread as I had no interest in the title 'Vote for getting older people online'. I actually found this by following a link on the Tech4Good website and only realised then that the thread was actually an opportunity to 'VOTE FOR GRANSNET'. If this had been the thread title I would have clicked on the link and voted much sooner.
I am sure that many more people would want to vote for Gransnet if they only realised that's what this thread is about.

I've also now just voted for Gransnet after seeing it mentioned in the Silver Traveller newsletter. It all made sense then!

Have to agree with grannyactivist. I've ignored this thread for the same reasons, but had a look today out of mere idle curiosity. Yes, I think you would have got so much more support if you'd headed it VOTE FOR GRANSNET as suggested.
I have now voted for you smile

Thanks grannyactivist and AshTree We've updated it now - hoping the votes will keep flooding in! Thank you to all who've voted already. And if you're on Twitter you can also vote for us just by using the hashtag #T4GGransnet

Yes I too would have voted for it IF the thread had been headed differently. I am 85 and my website has been visited by well over 30,000 people from worldwide apart from having TV contact me.
When I was 74 my son asked me to write down about my life which set me learning how to use a computer and writing about the first 20 years of my life, which takes the reader through being born during the Great Depression and being bombed out twice in the London Blitz during WW2 apart from being machine gunned twice.
Any books that I have written has had all proceeds handed over to my local childrens hospice. www.rainbows.co.uk

From the books I then got my website together and its been all go ever since. www.memorylanehf.oddquine.co.uk/
