...as bitching on a very sensitive thread is not a good idea.

a) I have already explained my position on the thread in question.

b) Nothing wrong with my arguments. Bloody sight more sensible than some on here. And they don't come from up my backside, being as my head isn't there. Unlike some.

Oh Dear! I joined Gransnet so that I could meet intelligent mature people who I could share the joys of grandparenthood with.I don't know what has gone before, but having just read this thread,it seems to be a bit of a school playground slanging match.

I am sitting outside, for the first time this year , at this time in the evening. It is peaceful, no one to disturb the equilibrium and I can see two swallows which does make a summer and two buzzards circling. So relax and enjoy what you have.

My Dad is bigger than your Dad!

Thanks Anya. Good of you to respond even though I have no idea what you mean.[confused}

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 19:59:49

I'm going to tell my Mum on you!

Ana Wed 01-Jul-15 19:30:52

What did GNHQ say, soontobe? Obviously they didn't delete the thread, or post a comment on it.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 19:28:07

At 7 am?! shock

I bet they loved that! grin

soontobe Wed 01-Jul-15 19:00:48

I reported the thread for all the reasons Brendawymms well articulated. I make no apologies for that.
It is horrid to see.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 18:20:27

bloody toffee nosed rubbish

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 18:19:52

"If you have to resort to insulting those with whom you disagree then it seems to me you don't have much confidence in your ability to present a coherent and sensible argument."

That was the part post that got me riled up this morning. And it was that I was answering in my OP.

rosesarered Wed 01-Jul-15 17:52:18

Perhaps this thread will just fade away or vanish up it's own .......

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:48:01

Ana you've cut me to the quck...

wanders off to eat worms

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:46:54

And finally (I think) and at the risk of alienating everyone on GN including GNHQ, no one on GN is the centre of my universe sad

But I'm sure you're all the centre of someone's sunshine

Ana Wed 01-Jul-15 16:46:28

I'm saying nothing...wink

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:44:36

See, I said this thread would go on and on and I was right. I must be psychotic confused

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:41:50

Grrenfinch you once said you felt your posts were often ignored so I'm replying to you. The answer is 'yes and no' grin

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:39:27

PPS i agree about the walnuts.

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:38:22

PS jingl you were right to start a new thread and not muck up the other one.

Anya Wed 01-Jul-15 16:30:10

I really don't understand where all this vitriol is coming from. Yes, there was some sarcasm but if that is the same as bullying then I really don't get it. In fact my posts were the kind of comments i would make to friends, about themselves, and they would likewise reply in the same vein, as Ana did. Perhaps some really need to 'grow' a pair. Or perhaps my friends are not so 'up themselves' they can't laugh at their foibles?

Bullying is, as an example, starting a thread with the sole purpose of 'getting at' one particular person I think most would agree. I didn't see anyone shouting 'bullying' when that happened to me. Indeed at least one of those spouting righteous indignation today was the worst offenders.

Thanks for those who PM'd me to let me know about this 'storm in a tea cup' as one person put it.

I'd like to think this will simply die a death but something tells me it will go on and on and on ......hmm

I've just sent for a sample on Kindle as I'm always looking for ways to be soothed.

I'm reading Phil Rickman whose books are set just about where I'm staying at the moment, on the Herefordshire/Welsh border.

Grannyknot Wed 01-Jul-15 16:12:25

I'm reading Gareth Malone's book "Choir". So soothing.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 16:10:04

Would love to be in that neck of the woods right now. Have to wait till end of August though. Sigh!

petallus Wed 01-Jul-15 16:06:51

petallus Wed 01-Jul-15 16:02:28

BTW, soontobe I am annoyed that you took it upon yourself to report the Tunisia thread to HQ. What were you trying to achieve?
