Acronyms

Can we please stop the 'D' at the beginning of all references to relatives? I find it very confusing, annoying and unnecessary and am hoping that others do too. Why was it started in the first place?

I think it came over from Mumsnet. I used it when I joined as it was the norm but after a few threads commenting on the silliness of it I and some others have stopped.
However, I wouldn't presume to ask others to stop. It's their choice.

Do as nina suggests, Shelagh, don't use them if you don't want to - simple!!
