Jenty, never believe a mirror, mine is a habitual liar. Keeps showing me a fat slob, rather that the lithe adonis I know I am.

I was going to suggest a sport forum, but I see we already have one.

When gransnet was young, I was keen to recruit, and told a group I was meeting with - 9 people, most the right age, mixed sexes, some I knew had grandchildren, some I didn't know. I described the cameraderie, the different opinions on religion, politics, scientific advances, the word games, the chaffing, the chats with like-minded people, the meetups in person, and, in passing, the chat about grandchildren.

One bloke said "I don't think I want to join to hear all about people's grandchildren".

Close of subject. The image of grannies boring for Britain is hard to overcome.

I agree with you, Cherrytree59 We need more balance in the discussions.
The name of the site, Gransnet, definitely puts the emphasis on the female side. Was it created to follow Mumsnet, or was it vice versa?
I mentioned this on the survey some of us have just filled in.

Jollyg, do you really think I am that brave, no way.

GandTea Fri 17-Jun-16 13:01:10

Hmm, I'm slipping, didn't see that coming grin

If I did January, I would only need a pea pod.

I think that GnT could regale you with his tales of some of the harridans that lurk here.

It takes a resourceful man to keep coming back here.

What month are you GandTea?
Do you need any fruit. Like a banana?grin

Thinking about you could do 2 months.

How about a Gransnet calendar, like the WI one, I'm sure that would work (well it would for me grin )

Come on ladies, who's up for it ?

GNHQ. Is it possible to attract some male company on GN.
GN logo doesn't jump out as male domain so perhaps a bit of advertising would help
May be local radio??

What about asking on mumsnet (if you dare) if any of the mum's fathers grandfathers' uncles etc would interested in joining.

Any other Gnetters have any ideas on drumming up some male/netters.
