Another one of those scam advert things!

Apols - this thread must have slipped through the net.

Can you let us know the URL of the page you saw this ad? Also, if you're able to screenshot it and email it over to [email protected], we'll take a look.

The only ads we have onsite are the ones at the top banner and to the right in a box. We never have pop-up ads (we do however have a Gransnet widget that pops up sometimes - but that's not classed as an ad).

the ads help pay for running sites...unfortuently you cant turn all the ads off...

There's something called ad choices and an arrow at the top. You can turn off the ads I think but I'm on iPad

I don't think they have a choice on the ads that appear. They sign up for the service and whatever ads go on the site is in the hands of the advertising company.

I have various ones, mostly inoffensive, legit and easy to ignore, but interspersed with That one! It is the same "scam" as the one a while ago, but with not the Facebook style thing, but still a flashing icon designed to look as if you have some sort of message.

I am still waiting for a response from HQ, is this something they have accepted as a paid for ad?

Remember that ad a while back with the flashing message thing? It's back, looks slightly different but same content, win Feel vouchers etc.

Come on HQ, get rid of it, it's a con!
