I still don't know how my very old laptop managed to have a spell checker. (which worked on gransnet).
I was going to try and get one on this much newer machine but I havent had time to sus out how to do it yet.

I wish we could edit our posts within, say 3 minutes of posting, so that we can correct them if we post by mistake without a preview.

Right! I will have to check on my newer computer when I get it back tomorrow. Thanks for helping with the trouble shooting.

Tried tpye nellie
Only changed to 'type' when used my spellcheck.
You have a spell check. It doesn't matter if on your computer or GNsmile

Yes. It doesn't work. The only way I'd get a red wriggly line is if I re-activated my internet provider's own Spellcheck.

Has anyone tried typing a mistake as I described trying further down the thread?

I use a Blackberry as prefer qwerty keyboard to touch screen
Down side is it has American spell check.
So I would like a GN spell check.
Don't hold out much hope though as we have asked for more emoji and A 'like' button etc in the past

My iPad and predictive text drives me nuts, but also the fat finger syndrome, sometimes I type a line quickly and it may as well be Greek and have to do it all again.

My Kindle is the same Alea even more annoying as it wants to use American spelling angry

My iPad is my spellchecker and also attempts a guess at the word it THINKS I am going to use, then prints something totally lunatic.
Checking that I am paying attention perhaps?

I cannot ytpe well.
I cannot type well
The wrong spelling had a red line under it as above and by pressing the right button on my mouse over the highlighted wrong spelling it brings up a correction.
Please can someone else try it!

As far as I know there is no GN spell check.

Nelliemoser Sun 26-Jun-16 19:09:03

Oh I don't know how that double post happened.
I haven't seen it before. I am using my old laptop with a screen nearly hanging off.

Ana Sun 26-Jun-16 19:07:50

Sorry, did I give the wrong answer? grin

When did this GN spell checker appear? I have been busy and I have had a poorly computer.

I am so pleased with I wont have to look up so many double consonant words.
I still have trouble hitting the right keys though.

I don't think there is a Gransnet spellchecker. Are you sure it's not just on your own computer? I turned mine off, it was irritating me!
