Am I right in thinking there is a new format for withdrawn posts, namely, merely an "empty " post?
It seems that there is a difference between a post which is withdrawn at a member's request, (given that there is no "delete" or "edit" facility and that member may have excellent reasons), and the previous message that a post has been deleted for breaching GN guidelines.
Would GNHQ. be prepared to comment please?

Hi DaphneBroon! Yes, you're exactly right. We reserve the 'Withdraw' button for users who personally request for their post to be removed. The 'Delete' button is for posts that break our guidelines.

But the "empty post" doesn't specify.
TBH I noticed it for the first time today and (surprisingly!) have not checked every thread to see if that is the case overall. Easily confused

Perhaps one should say "Post withdrawn" and the other "Post deleted" to differentiate?

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 07-Jul-16 11:31:34

Not sure what you mean by 'empty post'? Can you give us an example? (a link to the thread and poster)

I was wondering exactly the same thing. Why don't GNHQ seem to like doing this anymore?

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 07-Jul-16 12:30:03

Oh I see. That must be a technical glitch - we'll get the tech team on it. Thanks for flagging.

It's usually an automated message that appears when we click The Big Red Button - rather than us actually typing it.

Perhaps someone pressed the wrong button, or stole the proper button.
We need a bring back our button campaign.

DaphneBroon Thu 07-Jul-16 12:59:54
