bags and. merlot have put it perfectly. jingle does get heated but usually it's because she feels so strongly.

But at the end the day there is room on here for the very supportive threads like my pal soop kitchen and all the other more provocative threads.

Crikey !! I can be found in Soops Kitchen because I don't always enjoy some of the other threads so stay out.

I have ventured out on occasion and retreated feeling a bit bruised and have even on occasion alluded to the fact that its a dog eat dog world outside the kitchen.

I say that in the full knowledge that ANYONE on this forum can read my words. If anyone ever wants to question my comments- fill your boots as my Dad used to say. I don't do it to be divisive, to take pot shots or anything else. I'm just voicing my opinion.

I don't think I've ever flounced and I certainly haven't changed my user name. I'm not a shrinking violet but I do enjoy the banter in the 'kitchen' and the genuine caring of each others problems. Its also a smaller pool of people so I have got to know that small group better than the I have the general population of the forum perhaps.

I do take serious issue with any intent to make soop out to be anything other than a kind gentle lady who shares an insight into her life as do others in that particular thread. I have NEVER heard her say a mean word about anyone unlike many others on this forum.

I totally agree with your second paragraph, bags and wish no offence to Soop or most of the people in the kitchen.

I hope if she reads my post she understands why I felt I had to write it.

So I say again to HQ, look at who Jingle's friends are. Look at who really knows her. It tells you more about her than all the post reportings put together.

Out of loyalty to another friend I will say here that soop too has declared her support for Jingle, and her wish that Jingle be allowed back on GN. To paraphrase her words, she and Jingle have often ruffled each others feathers, but they sorted it out with straightforward discussion and apologies about misunderstandings where those were appropriate. In short, also to paraphrase soop's words, they were grown up about it.

I know I'm going to be deeply unpopular for this but the day Soop's Kitchen was created I thought, This is going to divide Gransnet. No offence to Soop and I'm sure it's a nice place to be for those who frequent it but at times it can become divisive.

For some (not all) to be in there, seemingly untouchable, and take pot shots at a thread, swearing blind you're far too sensible to touch it with a barge pole even though we can SEE your posts on said thread is hypocritical to say the least.

Jingl might have been outspoken but was honest in her criticism and loyal to those she thought might be taking too much flak. She did not need to hide behind imaginary doors.

I've seen some nasty vitriolic stuff written on here by people who are crafty enough to quickly slip the halo back in place before scuttling off to claim sanctuary.

Oh, and if it all goes pearshaped, there's always a good old flounce with another username hiding in the back of the wardrobe.

Even you know Jings is not a mean person. She just gets heated and sharp about stuff.
