Just tried GN with AdGuard but the ads are still turning off the radio. Also tried something called Blocking mode but it didn't help. PLEASE sort this out GNHQ

I changed my phone a week ago and started getting the ones that block the whole flippin page angry which I'd not had before. The twenty questions after clicking x are sooo frustrating. I found it quicker to come out of the page and go back in. I did put add blocker on my phone but still get them running across the top of GN pages and ones below the typing box which I just ignore. The dratted whole page ones have stopped though.

When I'm listening to the radio online at the same time as usining GN I find that the ads switch off the radio. It's beyond annoying and of course means I switch off GN. I'll look for AdGuard and see if that works but HQ should fix this. Switching off now to go to iplayer so I can catch up on the programme it just interrupted GRRRR

I now have pop ups on GN only that extend over half the page. They cover most of the threads I'm trying to read. Extremely annoying and totally counter productive. I absolutely guarantee I'll never use the items advertised. GNHQ come on. Sort this out!

kitty I installed an app called "AdGuard" and yet they were there! angry But then I rebooted my Kindle and voila, it seems to have worked.

Now it's "Wildy's Law Books".

Don't they realise our age group doesn't fall for "click bait?" grin

We should have a poll - does anyone ever click on an ad to "Learn more"? At the moment mine is for "Cleanstore" confused

That's exactly my experience GK. It's driving me bonkers!

I'm getting them too. Just had one for the New York Times - as I was reading about Christmas Jumpers - most annoying!! confused

Same here kitty and it seems to be getting worse. Plus when I click on the "X" to close (and I have to be precise because it is so damn tiny) - I have to jump through more hoops: "Why don't you like this ad?" etcetera. So I tut and click "Covers the page" upon which it used to disappear, but lately it just stays there "Thank you for your feedback". Gr.

I even muttered yesterday "Don't HQ get it that access to the forums is more important to us than the flipping ads!?" Because sometimes I give up and just close the page down.

I keep getting pop up ads on Gransnet but not on any other sites - what can I do?
