Update on situation now: , it seems that I am not asked to log in each time, if I stay online but switch threads.
If I go off and return later, I have to log in again, despite the visually obvious tick in the "Keep me logged in" box.

Have just returned to the GNsite after a walk, hoping I wouldn't need to log in again. However, as several other posters have said, no blank message box open at the end of the thread, had to log in again despite the fact that once done, it is clearly visible that I had ticked the "keep me logged in" box.

Very slow, sluggish. Hope GNHQ are working on this. Feel better that it is not just me or my old ipad! Annoying to have to log in each time.

I am getting fed up with this. I haven't received a daily news letter since Christmas. I do however received them if I click on an old newsletter. And I keep being asked to log in again when I have ticked keep me logged in. Technology! I have emailed Gransnet HQ but things are no better. And to top it all up, British Gas has FORBIDDEN me access to my on line account. They say the password I set up a week or so ago in wrong.

and then it often brings up the wrong thread anyway! Or an advert.

It is OK on my ancient pc but on the tablet it takes so long to load a thread, particularly on the 'I'm On' link that I give in. Sometimes 5 minutes dabbing at the link before it responds , if it does, which is very frustrating.

I've also had the very slow loading when clicking onto a subject. I thought that it was my Ipad being older now, but maybe it isn't after all. It doesn't happen all the time, and sometimes if I'm reading a thread, and not quickly clicking between posts, it is OK. It seems to have time to catch it's breath, so to speak. IYSWIM

I don't have any problem with logging in, but the page loads up very slowly every time I click onto something new.

BadenKate the problem is that for every message I had to go through the logging in procedure. Very frustrating. Ok at the moment as it is behaving itself. I work on a laptop not my tablet.

I, too, have only just seen this post. The GN site froze midweek and would not cooperate at all via my Ipad. Many emails to and fro with GNHQ and much frustration but for 1/2 an hour yesterday morning, and then again this morning, i was allowed back on, with open message box at the end of each thread( not available before).

I thought I had been banned, as well, much to the amusement of OH, who was convinced I'd been naughty!

Hope HQ have sorted the problem, which may be only related to GN on Ipads??

Last night I typed out a longish post and it wouldn't post even though I had ticked the box, kept trying.
I thought I had been banned !!

I don't know if GNHQ can put things right or if it is my tablet, sometimes it is so slow I just give in.

Perhaps they will get the tech people on to it for you

Just do a message Yorkshiregel. It can be anything, even just a smiley face. The posts with the most recent message go to the top of the list.

Jalima thanks for pointing me to this thread which I had not seen before. I had exactly the same problem and it makes you so annoyed. Twice I have given up in frustration.

I ticked the box to stay logged in but it didn't work. So I gave up. If at first etc etc

What causes it is what I do not understand. Makes you feel very unwelcome doesn't it. I do not know how to 'bump' things up either.

Oh thanks, I'll try that. I have emailed them but it is so annoying, I have to keep logging out then in again.
May just go and watch the telly.

Jalima make sure the little box is ticked underneath when you log in, that should solve it.
