Feminist board

Can't we have a feminist board so there's somewhere I can go and talk to myself on feminist issues?

Ana Fri 31-Mar-17 18:45:10

Because I don't think we need one. The example given of women being required to wear high heels at work is a subject which most of us (men included) would have a view on and it's surely not just a 'feminist' issue.

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 18:42:23

Well Lucky

a) I think there's some really good thought provoking stuff over there
b) ours could be better than theirs

Ana Fri 31-Mar-17 18:42:21

It's a 'no' from me.

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 18:40:37

* granny* who said you had to? I swear I don't know how you managed to make that jump from what I've said on here. I'm truly confused can you explain?

Luckygirl Fri 31-Mar-17 18:40:17

The feminist thread on the other side is truly dire - maybe we are well off without such a thing here?!

grannypiper Fri 31-Mar-17 18:37:18

Rigby Why must i agree with ever other female's views or actions just because i am also a woman ?

grannypiper Fri 31-Mar-17 18:27:23

Thats a no from me also

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 18:22:08

kitty what are you confused about - <tilts head> can I help?

kittylester Fri 31-Mar-17 18:19:28

confused

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 18:14:16

So ab your reasons are just personal to me and you are happy to try and stop a new board for that reason. If someone else you approved of had suggested the idea, you wouldn't have objected? As I said dog in the manger and terribly grown up. Perhaps dj should make the suggestion ....oh wait, that might not work

TriciaF Fri 31-Mar-17 17:49:23

Rigby your post of 14.26. Now I understand.
I would vote "yes" BTW.

Anniebach Fri 31-Mar-17 17:47:35

Rigsby, I am not interested in your views on feminism , I said what I did because you seemed puzzled as to why some said no , I gave my reasons . You can start a thread on any topic , those interested will post those not interested will not.

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 17:19:11

Was there a philosophy board? that would have done. I have been wondering about sneaking into Grandads Shed or asking for a Feminist Shed. Good point about the boys and the football match - dreadful dreadful sexism

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 17:16:47

Ok - I inferred that but basically you are saying that because of the way you think I post and that I'm bossy you will vote against the suggestion even though you wouldn't have to go anywhere near the board- sounds pretty negatively personal to me. ab and pretty 'dog in the manger-ish' or petty some might say. Well fortunately you can't stop me starting threads on feminist issues which is obviously the alternative. What a pity this thread has come to this - it was started in complete good faith and there were some interesting posts - and I include some of the ones that completely disagreed with me - at least they didn't make it personal because it didn't need to be

Jalima Fri 31-Mar-17 17:07:06

What has happened to the Philosophy Forum?

Cherrytree59 Fri 31-Mar-17 17:00:22

No.

Jalima Fri 31-Mar-17 16:55:14

Back to serious discussion.

Jalima Fri 31-Mar-17 16:53:35

sunseeker wink
Because they were all playing!

sunseeker Fri 31-Mar-17 16:48:26

Jalima grin

Jalima Fri 31-Mar-17 16:45:53

I would like to know why there were no girls watching the football, irrelevant to the need for a box.

Anniebach Fri 31-Mar-17 16:44:05

Rigsby , I did not say I disliked you, I said you were bossy and you insult posters who disagree with you.

Jalima Fri 31-Mar-17 16:37:11

Well, I for one knew it was Friday today [smug]

However, I did think it was 1st April (until DH enlightened me at about 3pm.)

Jayanna9040 Fri 31-Mar-17 16:33:59

Oh sorry, when I saw abs post about respecting those who disagree with her I thought it was a pantomime .........

Rigby46 Fri 31-Mar-17 16:29:17

Sometimes ab being honest is being unkind. So you don't like me and don't want to discuss with me - well you don't have to do you? That's a good reason to stay off a board of course it is but to try and stop one happening, I don't think so. Your post says much much more about you than it does about me. Oh and the use of the word bossy about a woman is one of the things feminists complain about - I have strong views which are generally well informed and that can't be said about every poster can it? But never mind when there's a thread started by me just ignore it

Jayanna9040 Fri 31-Mar-17 16:16:06

Oh no you can't. Oh yes I can......
