Great example nina

My admittedly undeveloped thinking on this is that it would sharpen the focus of a discussion. Issues mentioned above come up obviously on GN but as part of a broader thread. I thought there might be some members who would welcome a more forcused in depth discussion and it would be clearly signposted for those who are not interested to avoid if they so wished. All right what I mean is I would welcome it as I'm scared of some of the feminists on MN as they know so much

Re the judge and the cricketer...........there is a theme running through recent court cases. It seems to be saying;

If you get too drunk to stand up, the law can't protect you from being exploited.

If you agree to sexually explicit photos being taken of yourself during sex, the law can't protect you when they appear online.

If you are smart enough not to stay with a man who treats you badly physically and emotionally, the law can't protect you when he abuses you.

Oh come on GNHQ you can see we are all raring to go. Could I do a name change like on MN and pretend thereby that there is more support?

janeainsworth Thu 30-Mar-17 16:10:55

I'm sure there used to be one.
Perhaps GNHQ could comment.
I never notice which 'board' posts are on.
I just look at the thread title and read the thread if I'm Interested.

Is the benefit system fair to women? As a liberal feminist I think......

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 16:08:00

Was that someone else posting that I spied? Have a wine it's Friday o'clock. Topic - why do women drink so much? Well as a radical feminist, I think it's because......

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 16:05:40

Then we could < struggles gamely on> put forward an analysis of whatever type of feminist we define ourself as being of the topic in question whether its legs, violence against women, transgenderism, husbands who do nothing in the house or even Brexit - what does it mean for women

gettingonabit Thu 30-Mar-17 16:00:55

I agree with the op. There's a very active Feminism board over on The Other Side. Why not here?

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:59:56

For some strange reason I am not finding this thread and its main poster very stimulating confused. TBH I just want a break from Brexit but something meaty

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:57:39

This would lay down the battle lines ?

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:56:34

I'd like a discussion about types of feminism and which type you think you are

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:55:30

See what I mean - I'm talking to myself?

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:55:01

By talking to myself, I suppose I meant that there doesn't seem much interest- it's lonely on the thread about the judge and the cricketer for e ample - I nearly shouted for help - I certainly need a feminist on there

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:45:37

And feminism is much more than just equality of the sexes - whatever that means anyway? See, that's why we need a board, please HQ

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:44:14

* riverwalk* well a feminist board would soon test that proposition wouldn't it? ?

Riverwalk Thu 30-Mar-17 15:40:04

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any regular GN poster who is not a Feminist i.e. one who believes in equality of the sexes.

Why do you need to talk to yourself? We're all ears.

whitewave Thu 30-Mar-17 15:34:22

Haven't you just made one rig?

Grannyknot Thu 30-Mar-17 15:30:46

Am I feminissing something? grin

Rigby46 Thu 30-Mar-17 15:28:58

Can't we have a feminist board so there's somewhere I can go and talk to myself on feminist issues?
