Journalists can be quite brash in my experience, so the thought of being approached by more than one is daunting.

I have never had a good encounter with any journalist
(I just looked up the word brash in the dictionary just to be sure I was using the correct word. It described journalists that I have dealt with to a tee)

And so this is why I am out smile

Plus they expect your time for no pay, its not the money its the lack of respect they have towards people.

is this just me?

You may remember our survey about your experiences of having older relatives in hospital back in February.

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, with whom we're working on this project, is now looking for people who might be willing to consider approaches from journalists and talk about their experiences to the media.

If this is something that you might be interested in principle do let us know.
This won't commit you to anything at all at this stage: we would simply pass on your details to the Ombudsman and they might contact you with any relevant media bids. At that stage it would be entirely up to you whether you went ahead or not.

Do let us know if you are happy to do this - you can get in touch with us at [email protected]

If you do email us it would be really helpful if you could also include a few lines about you and your experience, so that the Ombudsman will know which kinds of pieces you would be appropriate for. The Ombudsman is particularly interested in accounts of people who have had reason to make complaints about the care of older people in hospital, or who wanted to make a complaint but found it difficult to do so. It would also be great if you could let us know the best number to reach you on, and also whether or not you’d be willing to be named and photographed if required (although it may well be possible to arrange an anonymous interview, if you’d prefer).

Many thanks
