It is quite usual to shorten names on other forums, as long as it's clear who is meant. How do the names get into bold letters? Do you all put a * in front, or is it automatic? And, if so, how come in the previous post by Grannyactivist or GA are both those names in bold print?

I'm often referred to as either GA or GrannyA and am happy to be called whatever people choose.

Cherry , I was also wondering where Roses was.
She was last in the Argy Bargy Café in mid-August, so hope just on holiday. I miss her posts.

Talking of names I often shorten Rosesarered to Roses
But I haven't seen a post from Roses lately.
Could be on holiday.

Occasionally some members shorten my name to "pho" , which doesn't look right, or "sound" right, if you think about it.

Phonetically, either Fee or Phee would work, but spelling wise, just doesn't work!

I am happy to be known as Charley- I only added girl to show that I am female. Those who "know" me refer to me as that.

I could' nt think of a good username when I joined, so I used the first part of my email address. I'd quite happily be hjj. I know they are only letters but it will save confusion with HildaW.

I'm not worried what people shorten mine to. Miss A is rather nice.

I said on another thread today how very entertaining some usernames are. I often think ;Good on you - what a sense of humour!'

In another place, I'm often referred to as Scribe and have no probs with that!

I'm quite happy to be called MD, as some posters do.

I shortened mine (from the much longer line from a song) when the shortened version was used by another poster. It made more sense.

I am quite happy to be Grey - in every sense!
