Those irritating front page photos

There was one a while back of a rather crumbly looking woman peering out of her window.

I don't see the front page. The link on my phone takes me straight to the active page.

You wouldn’t want a picture of me today. I’m still recovering from a virus. I have the remains of a cold sore, no make up so looking purply blotchy, my hairs a mess, I’m wearing a pair of pyjama bottoms, an old jersey jumper with a black vest showing underneath a very old jersey waistcoat and a pair of sheepskin slippers. Oh I forgot I’m also a stone fatter I look and feel sorry for myself, but I’m warm and comfortable and not going out and I hope no one knocks on my door (highly unlikely in this weather)

A picture of me would have everyone running from Gransnet screaming, I'd frighten the dogs in the street.

I totally agree with you Antonia. How refreshing it would be to have us real grans - albeit with our glorious grey hair/wrinkles/lumps'n'bumps 'n' all else that comes with wise age, rather than the perfect, insipid models depicted frolicking around on the GN front page.

What a brave move would it take to use pics of GN members incognito? I personally think it would be delightfully inspiring to see photos of non models depicting real life rather than the perfect, paid models who have nothing better to do than slap on a face and big toothy grin and run across fields...
