Help - Slow Again and Error Message

Is anyone else finding that the site has slowed up again? it is only GN and not other sites and when I tried to retrieve a thread I get an error message:

Thanks; I logged off and shut down and it seems to be better now, however, I do get that error message quite frequently these days.

Perhaps the 'tech guys' are upgrading the search facility (and at least putting it into chronological order?)

GN HQ I'm experiencing error messages again. Any emails, to alert you of error, using Contact GN are coming back as Undeliverable.
Here is screen shot of error, I hope it helps identify the problem.
It is so frustrating.

I couldn't get on to the site earlier. I had an error message. I went and read the news, and when I tried again it was okay.

Yes, I had that this morning Jallima1108 so I shut down for a while, but then logged on again and am now doing a full antivirus scan. It's comforting to know that others have had this strange message.

Same experience earlier today.
Just wish that GNHQ focus was on sorting out recurring problems, complaints and genuine requests instead of faffing
about with irritating adverts and pseudo consultations!

I couldn't get on the site earlier, the isitdown site confirmed that it was Gransnet not me.

As a newbie I'm disappointed that GNHQ seem oblivious to the concerns of users - perhaps they assume that if some leave, others will stay and/or new people will join.

Most forums I'm on, even small ones, seem to have an Edit function and are careful not to alienate loyal users. Wonder why GNHQ seemingly don't care? Have they always been like this?

Marydoll please can you let us know whether the undeliverable message contained information about why it couldn't be sent to us so we can investigate this further?

Jessity you just had the standard response to any question about comments or requests which GNHQ dislikes - you're being ignored and it's odds on you'll never get a straight answer.
It seems you joined too late for the big 'consultation' a year or so ago. Screeds of suggestions, disagreements and protests, all of which were ignored and we were presented with a fait accompli.
The choices are - either enjoy the companionship of posters, despite some high-handed admin, or walk away since nothing will be changed to suit the readership.
It's becoming obvious that, unpopular though they may be, these ads are here to stay!
