The cookie thread is working now. I think work is being done on the site as we speak, and if they are in the middle of something on a page, that page doesn't work.

Can I urge you to take advantage of the chance to manage your gransnet cookies, as offered on a current thread. I have just done it, it was very easy, just took a few minutes and should make what I see onscreen be what I want to see, not what some advertiser or statistician thinks I want.

I had a " sign-up " screen earlier which when I highlighted it I was then allowed on the forum. What was that about ?

The reply to my email to GN, describing the text of the error mssage I received a short time ago, aid "Thanks for sending that across, but it's nothing to worry about - we were just having a quick tech update. Sorry for any inconvenience that was caused.

That is probably what caused the problems others have had - while they were updating, things got a bit scrambled.

EllanVannin Maybe that sign-up screen was part of that bit of chaos, or maybe part of the "manage your cookies" update.

Cari I checked all the relevant bits of the cookie screen and saved them earlier today, but when I signed in just now, it asked me to do it again. (I have Firefox)
