Well I just came back online after catching up with Portrait Artist of the Year and the GBSB, and got all excited reading your post Cari on the Error 521 thread. But no, I couldn't post on it, aaaggghhh! So is this one going to post?

Every time I try to preview a text I've written recently, it has cancelled. Most discouraging!

I did have a problem with another site today, although DH managed to source information on the same site at the same time!

It’s not Gransnet there has been a huge outage on social media sites I can’t post on Fb at the moment

I get a delay, long enough to make me think it isn't going to post. Hope it is sorted by tomorrow.

I think the Techy department must be a 12-year-old grandchild of one of the moderators, doing it in between lessons.

Hooray!!! I've just managed to post on the Error 521 thread!

Elegran I only turned off the optional ones. And anyway, now I have turned them all back on again, and I still can't post on any thread other than this one. I feel as if I've been put in the isolation cell ward

Oh, and even though it seems I can post on this thread, I still can't preview my posts

I can't get Preview to work and only if I reload can I post.

I think they sorted out Mumsnet's privacy stuff first then did ours. Leave the old 'uns till last.

Considering Gransnet is a sister site to the Almighty Mumsnet, it's got crap technology.
When I couldn't get in to Gransnet earlier because of the Error Gateway I wondered if I could take a look at Mumsnet and that was fine (much quicker, should I defect? I am a mother!).

Some of the things on that privacy page (the first ones) are marked as essential. If you crossed any of those out , you won't see zilch. The ones further down the page are either "on" or "off". They are optional.

You may have problems while the pages are updated. I emailed HQ to tell them of my error messages and their reply said "Thanks for sending that across, but it's nothing to worry about - we were just having a quick tech update. Sorry for any inconvenience that was caused."

If I were you, I'd go and make a cup of tea, leaving GN turned off while you drink it. It'l probably be OK when you get back to it.

Well first of all I rejected all, then couldn't post. So then I went back and accepted all, still couldn't post. Let's see if this one posts!

I had the acceptance button too.

Same thing has been happening here.

Couldn't post...then got error message, then a while page of policy and an accept button...largest ever, in any site I've used, so you have to accept, then you can post. Was my experience this afternoon anyway.
