Could somebody please tell me what the guidelines are, because it seems anything goes.

MawB Mon 18-Nov-19 17:45:33

Granylaine gringrin with just a tiny bit of “ouch”!

grapefruitpip Mon 18-Nov-19 17:47:12

I didn't like to say for fear of retribution from the GN police force.

sodapop Mon 18-Nov-19 18:09:15

Just seen the post in question, it was a bit explicit wasn't it. Fifty one shades now.

sodapop Mon 18-Nov-19 18:12:06

It was a change from narcissistic relatives though. dons tin helmet

grapefruitpip Mon 18-Nov-19 18:16:09

What do you mean sodapop please?

Riverwalk Mon 18-Nov-19 18:48:34

It was a graphic description but not offensive - I felt the poster was expressing very hurt feelings, had suffered in the past, and has a very jaundiced view on male partners as a result.

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 18:53:04

I know exactly what sodapop means. hmm grin

Gonegirl Mon 18-Nov-19 19:01:43

grapefruitpip you can be a bit ridiculous.

Urmstongran Mon 18-Nov-19 19:57:15

gfp you are disingenuous at times. I think you like to stir the pot and see what happens ....
?

SirChenjin Mon 18-Nov-19 20:05:17

Count me in the ridiculous/disingenuous camp too because I didn’t understand the narcissistic relative reference either - I just thought it was a post about anal sex confusedconfused

That is so rude and hurtful. Really, very hurtful.

There is some nasty stuff on here.

Urmstongran Mon 18-Nov-19 20:21:15

In life, I often find those who give it out can’t take it in return.
Try being less abrasive?

SirChenjin Mon 18-Nov-19 20:45:38

Can someone please explain what’s going on? confused I can’t see anything from grapefruit on here that warrants pictures of wooden spoons or lectures on abrasiveness.

Greeneyedgirl Mon 18-Nov-19 20:48:12

I've just spent at least 10 mins of what precious life I may have remaining looking for offensive posts. If the one in question is the one I've located I would suggest that for those who find it offensive don't even think of watching Fleabag grin

grapefruitpip Mon 18-Nov-19 20:53:56

I watched 5 minutes of it and found it foul.

Yehbutnobut Mon 18-Nov-19 20:58:21

Greeneyedgirl ???

BradfordLass72 Mon 18-Nov-19 21:06:30

I could swear in Maori - that'd fox 'em smile

Greeneyedgirl Mon 18-Nov-19 21:06:41

I'm sorry you found it foul grapefruitpip. I thought Fleabag was explicit but clever, funny and sad. I suppose we are all different and some more sensitive about explicit sex than others. I just think it's a bodily function like any other, but don't like cruel or exploitative or violent stuff. In fact I think generally I'd be far more upset by violence than graphic sex talk.

GagaJo Mon 18-Nov-19 21:14:25

I love Fleabag. She's VERY sharp.

petra Mon 18-Nov-19 22:55:49

i watched 5 minutes of it and found it foul
5 minutes is a long time to watch something you find offensive ?

BlueBelle Mon 18-Nov-19 23:36:43

I thought Fleabag was a poster ???
Well of course I had to go and find the offensive post it was a bit ripe but I did have a smile I know where she’s coming from although I wouldn’t be quite so graphic even in private much less on here
Let’s stop getting at each other, no need, we all are different and have different levels of tolerance

grannyactivist Tue 19-Nov-19 02:33:24

I've been a social worker, a teacher of PSHE and I currently work with homeless people, so I'm no stranger to ripe language or graphic descriptions, but Gransnet I admit to metaphorically clutching my pearls (which incidentally I do wear) when I read the 'offending' post. And no, I wasn't offended in truth, but I didn't like it.

grapefruitpip Tue 19-Nov-19 08:07:05

I felt , yes felt ,some offense on behalf of the OP who posted a reasonable and heart felt dilemma.

I also think certain standards of decency should be maintained.

Regarding Fleabag, the first few minutes seemed to feature the main character talking to camera and musing over anal sex. Not for me.

lemongrove Tue 19-Nov-19 08:41:22

grannyactivist ....you’re right, you can dislike something without finding it ‘offensive’.
The post on various aspects of sex was graphic but didn’t offend me , although I admit to thinking ‘how different to the home life of our own dear Queen’ ?
