Granny23 I had that today and dropped an email to gransnet as I was unsure what to do with it. I have received a reply:

“Thank you for getting in touch. We have reason to believe this user is not genuine and they have been removed from the site.”

I deleted it .

Anything like that, report and block them. I wouldn't mess about.

We had a spate a while back. They are scammers and certainly not your friend.

I've no idea how to block a sender..................

Go to your inbox.
Open the post from the poster, you wish to block.
Go to the left hand side of the screen and there will be box to tick, allowing you to block.

I checked my Inbox earlier today when I first read the OP but I'd not received anything. Perhaps they'd been blocked by that time? Enjoy their way, I hope no GN members were taken in by it! Stay safe!

It was the fact that they gave an email address that was worrying.
By replying, a poster would have given the scammer the opportunity to start a conversation.

The scammers on GN are usually people with names like, Will
