Search function

It's rubbish, rarely works properly for me.

I find the only way I can find recent items is by sorting by date.
However, that facility only works on my PC, not any mobile devices.

No, I never seem to get any results either. I use google instead, usually get the results from them - weird!

On my laptop, I switch between the 'mobile site' and the 'desktop site', because for me, the search function only works on one of those - right now, I can't remember which, though!

I just changed to Desktop Site, on my mobile , and got some results for what I wanted.
Desktop is a bit too fiddly to use on the mobile all the time, tho.

Curlywhirly, I might also give google a go, in future, to find things on gransnet.

Yes, I agree with Curlywhirly about Google often finding what you want on Gransnet too.

I use mobile on an iPad and can do a search successfully

Absolutely useless on my tablet! Very frustrating!

Reading phoenix's post made me check my own, and I realized that I made a mistake in my post of Wed 08-Apr-20 09:07:01.

It is on my tablet, not laptop, that I can get a working search function by going to the desktop site instead of the mobile site

(Scroll to the very bottom of the page to find where you can toggle between the two!)
