I just click on private message along the top with the posters name in in.
I suppose it depends if you are on the mobile or desktop site.

Or you can look at the 3 dots below a post, which gives you the option to report the post, pm the poster or do something else that I can't remember blush

Go to the top right hand side of this page and click on Inbox
It's self explanatory.
You have to ensure you have the correct spelling of the user name or the PM won't send.
