It seems like months ago since we complained about this. It takes up all of the screen and clicking on the "x" in the corner had no effect at all. Nor did clicking on the picture itself which, theoretically, should have taken you to a box to enter your e-mail address to receive the newsletter. I said this at the time but it continued. Surely it should not appear if you are logged in and are already subscribed to the newsletter.

I always delete the newsletter unread. Perhaps I ought to take a look some time. It mostly seemed to inform of competitions for which I am not eligible, apart from listing the top conversations.

Anyway, thanks Annie for having it taken down. Makes reading much more enjoyable.

teacheranne go into Settings
Select Safari or whichever Internet you use
Scroll down and it says Block Pop ups, slide thingy accross

Thanks, I’ve checked and I already have pop ups blocked! No idea why I was still seeing the advert.

I’ve blocked all pop ups, so I don’t see any ads on GN at all.

Showing my ignorance here but how do you block all pop ups on an iPad?

I agree with you, Teacheranne. It’s really annoying - it did use to disappear from a single click, but now appears on every thread!

I’m getting rather fed up with seeing the advert for the newsletter pop up every time I open a thread. Previously I’m sure that if you clicked on the X, the ad disappeared and did not reappear on every following thread. And I already subscribe to receive the newsletter so it’s somewhat pointless.

Is there anything admin can do to correct this glitch?
