Apologies if this has been asked before I’m new to this. I do a bit on mumsnet too and notice that threads where the author has made another comment are highlighted in a different colour. Are we able to do this too so we can see if they have commented again?

View on my not-so-new iPad. OP’s first post (not subsequent posts) in green. Mine are always in pink.

That isn't the mobile site BlueBelle
If you go to the bottom on the home page, there should be a button somewhere that says 'mobile site'. Click on that.
Likewise, there's a button at the bottom of the mobile site that says 'desktop site'.
I much prefer the mobile site. Much more streamlined and far fewer ads

I can do screen shots but not confident to do links.
Followed your instructions Fanny to mobile site. Easier to read and no adverts.
?
The ability to read 100 posts or to flip not available though. Have I done this correctly?

Green and pink on the mobile site on my Fire tablet too...

FannyCornforth Wed 16-Jun-21 09:02:34

I'm on Android.
It's all very odd isn't it.

On my Samsung mobile, whether on the mobile or desktop option, all my posts are pink, but only the OP's original post is in green, no subsequent ones highlighted...

Alizarin Tue 15-Jun-21 13:28:05

Green and pink on my Samsung mobile.

ixion Tue 15-Jun-21 13:24:12

?
Would it be affected by whether you are an android or iPad/iPhone user?
(Apols, not at all tech minded☹️)

Ok so now I’m on the mobile site. OP posts not highlighted after the first one!

FannyCornforth Mon 14-Jun-21 10:44:27

So (I hope) the final answer seems to be, you need to be on the mobile site.smile

BlueBelle Mon 14-Jun-21 10:22:22

Well I certainly can’t on either my iPad or my iPhone my understanding from HA was that it couldn’t be done

Aveline Mon 14-Jun-21 10:21:42

Green and pink on my mobile and on my tablet.

Ro60 Mon 14-Jun-21 09:57:00

Green & pink on my kindle too.

FannyCornforth Mon 14-Jun-21 08:33:57

Thank you Lucca, I don't know how to do them either (or links for that matter)
I don't really understand how a screenshot would help, Jacky

It seems that there are functions that you get on the mobile site that you don't on the other one.
For example, the ability to hide threads, which was discussed recently.

JackyB Mon 14-Jun-21 07:55:48

Grannycool52 or sodapop please show us a screen shot of this. GNHQ have confirmed frequently that it can't be done.

Grannycool52 Sun 13-Jun-21 19:49:26

The original poster's follow-on posts are highlighted in green on my phone and my own (rare) posts are highlighted in pink.
How strange - I presumed this was the same for everyone.

BlueBelle

No we can’t and no they won’t change it we have asked MANY MANY times

Ok thanks all for letting me know x

JackyB Sun 13-Jun-21 19:23:25

So many threads trundle on regardless answering the OP after the poster of said OP has returned and said "Thanks, it's OK now" or has filled in missing bits of information which people keep asking for. If their posts were highlighted in green this would make things so much clearer.

As has been said, we have asked for this many times, to no avail.

Having said that, however, those that blunder in without reading the rest of the thread would probably not even notice a green post.

welbeck Sun 13-Jun-21 17:34:21

there's not enough traffic to make it worth their while.
although i doubt it would take much tweaking, for a skilled operator.
