Has anyone on GN got the right to give private information about you?

(593 Posts)

GNHQ have commented on this thread. Read here.

Fleurpepper Mon 12-Dec-22 17:02:28

Surely not. People on GN should have the right to anonimity, unless they choose to divulge any private information, be it about profession, locality, ethnicity, or whatever.

Secondly, should any information given in a PM be fair game to share to other members? Surely not.

So just another ‘some people’ thread then.

A matter which should have been settled between the OP, whoever she is accusing and GNHQ without any drama!

What did you do that for Doodle- I need a lie down now.

😈

Steady kitty 😍

Obviously an agenda but the OP has certainly peaked many to now wonder - what is the secret which is not a secret to others who have known her for years on GN and lastly, to lay the blame at one particular GN member being responsible for spreading a fact others were already aware of. Job done.

grin.

It's all very exclusionary. I keep hearing that Bryan Ferry song in my head.

Well, IF there is an agenda to make us all wonder what fascinating facts about the OP are being hidden from us (but which some miscreants may have leaked) and as a result to find the OP more interesting than before and so to look out for their posts, then it has worked, hasn't it?

Doodledog Thu 15-Dec-22 10:31:00

Me neither, tickingbird grin.

It’s odd, as whatever it is seems to be (according to those pointing fingers, at least) about the OP, but as she started the thread that is baffling. VS suggests that it is about her. I see no evidence of that, but as I thought this was about someone’s country of residence being exposed it’s clear that I am missing something, so maybe it is.

GagaJo suggests that Some People (unspecified) are putting themselves at risk of being banned - is there a group of people conspiring to do whatever the ‘agenda’ is?

It is all getting cliquey now, as clearly there are some ‘in the know’ and the rest of us remain baffled. I wasn’t interested at first, but I am curious now - can someone let me know what’s going on, please? I don’t repeat confidences.

FannyCornforth Thu 15-Dec-22 10:23:11

Same here tbird
I also get the feeling that we all could be talking at cross purposes.
It’s quite a puzzle!

tickingbird Thu 15-Dec-22 09:25:30

I’m still totally bemused and have no idea if there’s an agenda or not and if there is, what the aim is 🤷‍♂️

If I only had a brain ........

I'd unravel every riddle for any individ'le!

VioletSky Thu 15-Dec-22 08:08:39

I've just had someone I don't recognise tell me my job to dismiss my comment on another thread hinting I had a low qualification.

If what's on the agenda is that:

people stop doing gross things like that

I approve

Even my little brain can see that there is an agenda here …

Indeeed. Even my tired brain sees this

I lurked for several months before I managed to pluck up the courage to post for the first time.

Unfortunately I got piled on big time, I received a PM from Anniebach who was going through the most difficult personal time herself, but took time to befriend me.

There are far more positives than negatives on GN, like real life if you look for trouble you will find it…

Hmmmm- oh yes, it did. hence this thread. Sometimes it is best not to comment, really.

It's good that you did return Callistemon if you hadn't, I'd never have known you once did a wee out in the wildgrin.

Apologies, I've had a busy day, Smileless

I've been rapping sorry, wrapping.

Callistemon21 Wed 14-Dec-22 20:36:09

I think a fox tried to get into the run and cage of our guinea pig and it died of fright sad

Spaniels love anything stinky, Iam64.
Ours would head for the nearest cowpat or filthy puddle.

hazel93 Wed 14-Dec-22 20:33:34

So, can everyone play nicely now ?

Iam64 Wed 14-Dec-22 20:32:11

I like to see foxes. We have one who travels down just outside our back garden then over the front lawn to the fields. We see his paw prints when it snows, like now.
When I had garden hens, I had the mesh dug over a foot down to stop foxes getting into the hens.
All my dogs find rolling in fox poo the next best thing to swimming. I keep fox poo shampoo in - nothing else really gets the smell awsy.

Callistemon21 Wed 14-Dec-22 20:26:53

When I first started there was a group of very unwelcoming people who made catty comments when I tried to start a new thread ( I was keen and full of ideas then!)

That happened to me too, nanna8.

It is upsetting, particularly if you join, as I did, when I'd just lost a very dear friend. It wasn't a group, just one person who obviously disagreed with anything I posted.
I left but thought that I don't care as I don't know these people so I returned.

It's quite ironic when I think of it.
