It's always the same

If something is said that's a bit too obviously nasty we suddenly get an influx of silly comments to distract from it.

Then a round of "that never happened"

Then we get " if people don't name and shame it's passive aggressive" even though naming and shaming will be mass reported

But if anyone else reports they are beneath contempt

Then if anything does get reported there is mass paranoia and inevitably blame where it doesn't belong

It's just so predictable

It ruins the forum

I too am Spartacus on the X front I expect.

Passive aggressive behaviour causes significant distress to those of the receiving end, particularly within family and friendship groups. All to often it’s denied, the perpetrator claiming to have been misunderstood. On they to, claiming to be the victims

Isn't that a personal comment, VS? Poor x must be devastated. The whole basis for the unpleasantness on this thread is that making digs without naming people directly is no different from being upfront when it comes to bullying. It's far worse, actually, as passive aggression can always be denied, and the pointed digs can be (and often are) assumed to be about the wrong person, causing hurt to someone other than (or as well as) the person they were intended to hurt. It's not kind.

A quick skim of the thread doesn't show up any personal comments against you though - just a couple of mentions of things you have said. That is engagement, not personal comments. Anyone who posts on a thread can expect their posts to be replied to.

Saying that you are going to ignore someone, now - that is getting personal. There are a lot of double standards on this thread.

I feel totally out in the cold on this one.
It’s a bit like Harry & Meghan’s Netflix to me. Much ado about very little, but has attracted excessive attention and comment.
