OK - this is a test!

Oh, it worked! And I hadn't even posted on this thread, just bookmarked *Luckygirl' s test post.

Thank you FarNorth 🙂

Every day's a schoolday .....

On Mumsnet you do not have to do anything at all. If you make a post on a thread then when you reopen that thread it takes you straight back there.

so why not click on i'm watching to keep track of ones you've read but not contributed to.
seems to work for most of us.

When you click on the title of the thread, it should open at the bookmarked post.

* * * *

This requires you to remember which thread you were reading. If you've contributed, you can go to "I'm on" but if you haven't clicked on "watching" and you haven't written anything in that thread, you have to remember what the thread was called. That's not what computers are for. As I have previously said, I am on a forum which has been going since 1999 and which has all those features. It's hardly coding magic.

I don't think we are short of ads!!

Luckygirl3 Tue 20-Jun-23 08:18:14

I don't get the 3 dots but can bookmark the previous person's post.

Mumsnet has a lot of things we never get.

Mumsnet generates a lot of traffic, ergo, advertisers spend money there.

Luckygirl3 Tue 20-Jun-23 07:24:48

Bingo - thanks for the info!

Shouldn’t be so hard, though. If they can do it for mumsnet they can do it here.

I hate this emoji, but, needs must… 🤣

You're on desktop site? I changed to it just now, to see, and when I hovered at the end of the post it did highlight a word but also came up with a 'bookmark' option.
Tap that and the post is saved.

BlueBelle Tue 20-Jun-23 05:23:19

No dots
and if I hover at the end it just highlights the last word and doesn’t give me a choice to bookmark !!!!!

yes, when i see a title in the active list, on the rare occasions it's not filled up with games threads, and it's one i've already started reading, i click on the title and it wizzes me to the last post which i had bookmarked earlier.
if yours doesn't, OP, maybe there is something wrong.

FarNorth Tue 20-Jun-23 00:18:18

When you click on the title of the thread, it should open at the bookmarked post.

JackyB Mon 19-Jun-23 23:39:00

I've done all that, but I've no idea how to get back to the bookmarked place.

welbeck Mon 19-Jun-23 23:11:22

why don't you just bookmark the post you last read ?
i don't see 3 dots.
i just hover at the end of the last post and click when the word bookmark appears.
then it says, saved.
simples !

BlueBelle Mon 19-Jun-23 22:57:57

I don’t have three dots at the end of a post ??

NotSpaghetti Mon 19-Jun-23 22:54:14

Bookmark facility is in the three dots at the end of a post

NotSpaghetti Mon 19-Jun-23 22:53:33

Have you thought of "bookmarking" where you are? It works for me.

Luckygirl3 Mon 19-Jun-23 21:50:05

Dear Gransnet
Please can we have the same facility as Mumsnet has whereby when you return to a thread you find yourself on the page with your own last post so you can carry on from there? It is quite frustrating to have to trawl through all the pages to find where you left off.
Thank you
