Hello, everyone. You may notice a new privacy pop-up appearing on the site today.

Firstly, don’t be alarmed - the latest pop-up ensures we continue to be compliant with the standards set by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB UK).

You should only see it once - unless you clear your cookies or use incognito browsing - and it should not cause any issues with your use of the site.

As always, fire away with any additional comments or questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Thanks, GNHQ.

I would be more interested in why Gransnet is still displaying the appalling adverts that intrude on these pages, despite numerous requests to do so.

There's one that bursts into song even though I don't touch anything on the advert.
It's an annoying children's song which goes on and on and on.

I get the women getting makeovers in every article I read they must be 5 years older now.
I suspect that all Grans bottoms are now covered by Sloggis as they are advertised every two minutes though I haven't succumbed yet it's still M&S cotton for me no lycra in any quantity. Saggy bottom I probably have and after writing this the Brazilian Bum Bum cream that is doing the rounds will probably be advertised.wink

I have signed up for an adblocker and that removes them all.

I have just been listening to an item on R4 talking about the problems some neurally diverse people have with many selling websites. I have ADHD and I find that when sites I am looking at, like GN have ads round them, especially if they move make it impossible for me to read the main text.

I am using a recently acquired small laptop and hadn't yet signed up to an AD blocker - until away on holiday, today and dependent on my laptop. I have now. 24 hours ofGN with adverts hd me almost in tears. They wouldn't close, just move round and were severely distracting

GNHQ Note: YOUE SITE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE OR WELCOMING TO NEURALLY DIVERSE MEMBERS
