I've lost 2 long posts today. Several over the last few days. Always the longer more detailed ones.

Does anyone know why please?

Mollygo Wed 17-Jul-24 11:58:57

Not happened to me recently, though I’ve seen others mention it. It got so bad at one time that I used to write my posts on the notes app and copy and paste them in.
Let’s hope GN gets it sorted out.

I wonder if the box you type in doesn't like more than x characters?

BlueBelle Wed 17-Jul-24 17:18:07

I ve never had that happen on my laptop

BlueBelle Wed 17-Jul-24 17:18:31

Sorry not a laptop an iPad head in the clouds

I am clearly not a bit techie minded, but I seem to have these vanishing problems when the page is busy downloading certain videos as I am typing.
I then get the warning signs of my text 'stuttering' as I type in, a significant delay in the typed words appearing in the box and - the final insult- an unsolicited page refresh, which wipes the lot out.

When I see the signs, I hurriedly cut and paste to a blank email page and carry on there. Then copy and paste back to the conversation box.

I haven't had any stuttery warnings - but maybe I should type it elsewhere and then cut and paste...

Grammaretto Thu 18-Jul-24 01:32:36

I get the aw snap too. 😡
Like you, it happens at the end of a long post.
I don't know how to cut and paste on my phone.

I often get the delay in the words appearing on the screen long after I’ve finished typing, but it’s only on GN that it happens.
Odd.

Do you think they read them to make sure they are not spam or something? Probably not, but it’s a thought.

Hi folks,

Please can you let us know your devices and browsers? We'd be keen to look into this, but it's not something we've managed to replicate. You can provide extra information by reporting your posts to us using the report button.

Grammaretto Thu 18-Jul-24 10:40:43

I use a phone, a Samsung galaxy A34 5G.
I'll report it as soon as it happens again. Thanks.

NotSpaghetti Thu 18-Jul-24 11:06:15

We can't report the posts as they just dissappear!

NotSpaghetti Thu 18-Jul-24 11:07:55

It happens only on my phone.
It's a Samsung Galaxy A52s

NotSpaghetti Thu 18-Jul-24 11:08:41

I use Chrome

NotSpaghetti Thu 18-Jul-24 11:10:01

To be clear, LilyGransnet - they disappear as you are still writing - and it's always the longer posts.

NotSpaghetti Mon 12-Aug-24 20:28:07

This is still happening.
Am I the only one now?

NotSpaghetti Sat 17-Aug-24 10:22:00

I have just lost a huge post.
Is it really just me LilyGransnet and if so what is going wrong?

What can I do?

NotSpaghetti Sat 31-Aug-24 22:05:53

Still happening @gransnet

Lost 3 long posts over 2 days... any more ideas?

BlueBelle Sun 01-Sept-24 03:27:34

I think it’s personal to you Notspaghetti I ve never had this happen that I can think of
The two people having the trouble are both on Samsung Galaxy phones !!!

Aldom Sun 01-Sept-24 07:45:26

I've noticed other posters mention that they have lost a novella so I don't think it's just Notspaghetti.

NotSpaghetti Sun 01-Sept-24 08:17:48

Mine is a Samsung too...
