Your post made me look at my own msg both sent and received on Gnet.
Strangely enough earlier on this morning I also went through my emails not that I have anything private but I have started thinking if something happened to me then it is sort of "tidied up". I have done mine on a laptop which was fine, just sent them to the delete and off they went (on gransnet that is)
It works on mine, I just tried it, but I am on a pc I am not usng my phone. I ticked a little box to the left of the message in the list in the Gransnet inbox (not on the message itself) then selected the bin, and it disappeared.
I’m having the same issue, eddiecat. I rarely use the private message facility, but would like to delete one conversation - as FGT says, some can be distressing to read. The “in” one just disappeared, the “out” one dustbin doesn’t work. I contacted GNHQ weeks ago but didn’t get a reply.
Actually I’m going to delete all mine. Hundreds of them spanning 18 months of devastating anxiety over our family situation health wise. I received so many wonderful, kind and supportive p.m’s but to be honest it would distress me to re-read them now, so I shan’t. I think emptying my inbox & sent folders is best for my mental health and well being right now. It will take some serious time to clear the cache I expect.
You should be able to set your emails to delete sent messages after a certain period of time, then you don't need to do it yourself. Obviously quite how you go about setting them to do that depends on the system you are using. Worth have a look to see if you can find it.
I'd like to delete all my messages. No particular reason, I just like to keep my online presence minimal.. For the Inbox ones I just click on the dustbin symbol and the message goes. But for the Sent ones if I click on the Dustbin nothing happens
