Where are the immigrants taken when they arrive in the uk?

This is not a thread to discuss whether they should be here or not, or how they got here, this has been covered several times before. What puzzles me is where they are taken. Some weeks the best part of a thousand arrive, either on inflatables or having been picked up by our border control boats. Where on earth do they go? What an absolute nightmare for the people in charge of finding them accommodation. I can find no information on line. Does anyone know? I am just curious of the logistics of finding endless bed and board for so many.

Read the OP again. It says specifically that it doesn't want to reopen the subject.

So what did they want us to discuss, the price of eggs in Tesco’s 🤷‍♀️

I think Bazza has been trying to stir up feelings and start a debate - he surely reads newspapers/watches tv/sees things online. He knows the answers to his own questions here.

A perfectly legitimate subject for discussion.

Spot on Maybee70.

Bazza isn’t a new user 😊

Why is this on ‘site stuff’?

Just so they can start another similar thread in another part of the forum under the pretext of it being a different subject [sigh...].

It's just another thread not seeking genuine information but just wanting to wind people up...doesn't take much either it seems...

Maybe it is someone unused to the site. I don’t recognise the name.

But if they keep arriving in the numbers they are currently, won’t we eventually run out of places for them? Or perhaps some of them are returned making room for others. I guess that this is such an incendiary subject we’re not privy to many details.

Aveline Sat 02-Aug-25 16:40:53

That's just the ones that are picked up officially. I have seen videos of these rubber boats landing on beaches and black lads just running for it into suburban streets. God knows where they go from there. I feel very sorry for people living in these south coast towns.

Initially to Manston in Kent, a secure site, for security and identity checks, it’s a former RAF site.

I wonder how they manage to do security and identity checks for those with no documents and determined to lie?

A load were dropped off at Barbican Hotel, Canary Wharf early this morning.

They are filmed hanging out of windows, laughing and using their phones to take photos of protestors outside.
They can’t believe their luck.

The anti migrant people are very peaceful and unmasked.
The other lot are all wearing masks.

According to the DM those pictures are from the Thistle Hotel in Islington, not Canary Wharf Primrose

I watched it on TV.
Doesn’t really matter where it is, it’s still true and happening.

I am not opposed to anyone coming here and working legally. It is not good though when immigrants are getting all these handouts and our own people who have worked all their lives having benefits cut. As Primrose53 says they can't believe their luck. angry

Of course they’re laughing. They have travelled through countless safe countries to four star hotels with free food, access to NHS and dentists, monetary handouts etc, etc. All paid for by us at the expense of our own. We are a complete laughing stock.

And yes this is a Britannia Hotel.

Moonwatcher1904 Sat 02-Aug-25 15:29:09

A big hotel on our seafront has been used to house them. A couple of weeks ago it was found that a Syrian man and woman were caught in their room making porn videos. The man's punishment was to be rehoused on another site. I'll not be surprised if this is just the tip of the iceberg.

petra Sat 02-Aug-25 15:24:50

Britannia Hotels have a 10,000 bed capacity.
As for it being a nightmare for people to arrange it’s a very well oiled machine. It’s not as if is a new phenomenon 🤷‍♀️

Homelessness is a big issue affecting hundreds of thousands of people across the UK and the issue has reached critical levels around the country in 2025.

You just made it political Bazza…. as you said initially, plenty of other threads on this.

Bazza Sat 02-Aug-25 14:51:15

But surely even Britannia hotels have limited spaces? So they start at Manston in Kent but then where? Do they have accommodation? During this summer it’s not unusual to have a thousand a week, if we have homeless people how come there is no where for them? I really don’t want this to become political but I find it really hard to understand how endless numbers of people can be housed.
