Why ask for password ?

Suddenly the site needs a password and won’t accept the previous one. If it happens again I am thinking I will leave because it is very boring having to change it . I have always enjoyed gransnet but not so much lately.

Is it doing it every time you enter Gransnet ? Have you messaged the GN team to find out why ? Might be worth a try if it's happening all the time.

Just random, not every time and I just can’t be stuffed with it, life’s too short.

Rocketstop2 Sat 25-Jul-26 14:11:37

Ah I see, I know what you mean though as everywhere seems to be asking us to sign in or go through more procedures.

It can be annoying having to put passwords in all the time. If you aren't enjoying Gransnet now I can understand you leaving but it would be a shame to lose our only? Australian gran. I enjoy your posts.

I stay permanently signed in. Can you not do that with an aussie ISP?

I have face recognition on my phone and have to use it every time I come on here.
Is a bit irritating.

There are a number of glitches on the site at the moment, it seems GN needs to get its act together. There is a thread on the go at the moment about the current problems.
Please don't give up, it is good to see the world from the Australian perspective.

I stay logged in all the time

SueDonim Sat 25-Jul-26 17:55:02

Do you need to clear your browsing history of cookies? That often sorts out glitches on my iPad & phone. I hope you don’t leave, I like hearing about your life!

Thanks for replying everyone. I do stay logged in but it logs me off itself. Probably sick of me ! I will try not to be controversial 🤪

Have you tried clearing your cookies history etc I couldn’t get on at all the other day and after a chat with google I managed to clear the cookies and bingo all was restored

NittWitt Sun 26-Jul-26 06:52:53

Doesn't clearing cookies mean you have to sign in to everything again?

BlueBelle Sun 26-Jul-26 07:30:32

I didn’t have to

mrsfeather Sun 26-Jul-26 08:01:59

A Tasmanian here - no problems on my tablet don't usually use my phone for gransnet.

shysal Sun 26-Jul-26 09:30:31

NittWitt

Doesn't clearing cookies mean you have to sign in to everything again?

When I cleared mine I retained the autofill feature. I hade to sign in the first time using a site again but could stay logged in as before.

nanna8 Sun 26-Jul-26 11:06:35

Still happening. Asks me to sign in and then says it is the wrong password even when I change it. I have been on the site for years so why now ?

henetha Sun 26-Jul-26 12:05:28

I don't log out. So it's always easy.
It would be sad to lose you nanna8. Please don't leave.

NittWitt Sun 26-Jul-26 15:47:10

That does sound infuriating nanna8.

Patsy70 Sun 26-Jul-26 16:46:02

Please don’t leave Nanna8. I can understand your frustration, but would miss your comments from Australia.
Hopefully, the GN team will resolve the problem.

JenniRen Sun 26-Jul-26 20:25:54

When you log on, do you tick the little box which says 'keep me logged in'?

Perhaps ticking that might help.
