I stole something from a store.Was accidentally but still stealing all the same.This was way before barcodes i was buying Curtain material & i got all the cottons etc held in my hand while the lady was cutting the material i paid what she asked for not but did'nt realise till walking down the street i had'nt paid for things in my hand, i was to embarrassed to go back but worried someone was going to tap me on the shoulder.Never went in the store again.

I don't think |I did anything that outlandish, my parents were incredibly strict and I never really escaped from their upervision. I was a hippy for a while, but a pretty lonely one!

There are plenty of competitions where you don't have to join something you think is "a load of drivel". Why not stick to those, and leave the "drivel" to those who joined for the company, not the cash?

Or you could try actually - shock horror! - reading the posts on the forum you have added your name to. You might be surprised to find that there is more in them than a one in a million chance of winning a prize you didn't even want in the first place.

imo edmontonkitty should not be allowed to enter the competition and his/her post should be deleted by HQ.

What's your problem? Some of us really enjoy GN and have made new friends through it. Drivel it certainly is not.

I'm one of those posting because it's a competition: So what? Why would anyone want to read or write the drivel on most of these forums if it wasn't because cash was involved?

You are quite right; I won't be deleting my account on the grounds of gransnet's association with L'Oreal for just the reasons you and Greenfinch highlight. I prefer to be the 'thorn in the flesh' and will continue to harass GNHQ about this issue and to pop up on different threads to make the point that animal testing is still an issue despite the EU ban. I think the more of us that are prepared to speak out the better, so why not stay Mellwinkle?

Mellwinkle while I applaud your sentiments and see exactly where you are coming from, I would urge you not to leave but to stay and fight .If you leave you will be forgotten but if you stay you can be an on going thorn in the flesh. I think most people who responded to this thread were unthinking rather than uncaring Bur L'Oreal does need to be exposed and perhaps the publicity here is one way of doing it. Animals do have rights.

Perhaps, Mellwinkle, it's because by continuing to comment on and criticise GN for their association with L'Oreal, they think that's more effective than simply deleting their account?

I can't be bothered to trawl back now and see exactly who made those posts, but I'm pretty sure nightowl and mishap were among them. Both of them are regular posters who have made valuable contributions to Gransnet and I'd be very sorry to see either of them leave.

Having read through some posts here which highlight the fact that L'Oreal test on animals, I will be deleting my account with Gransnet, I wonder if those who have brought this to our attention will also take this action. Why would you continue to be a part of something which is promoting and I quote "the evil that is L'Oreal"

It's the first time I've posted and, no, not because it's a competition, but because I'm new. I got really drunk at my boss's Christmas party, snogged his best friend (old enough to be my father) in the taxi all the way to the station and passed out on the train.
