Would like to see our new polytunnel and very old greenhouse full to the brim with lots of produce; have started well with seed planting but need a good watering system. The next big project is to get our large overgrown pond sorted out somehow. Have the waders ready but not sure how to begin! Can't decide whether we actually would be better just filling it in! At the front I need a magical (but not chemical!) solution to weeds in the gravel drive or maybe a way to make it a reasonably neat 'green' drive.

to grow some fruit

I would love to purchase the small plot of land next to my garden to open it up and really show what I'm capable of with regards to gardening. The extra land would give me a fantastic view from my conservatory,, where I could sit on an evening and just look around the garden.

I live in a terraced house with a small, sunny back garden, but an even smaller front garden that I have struggled to do anything meaningful with. I have decided this year to give up trying to improve the small lawn, but instead to turn it into a wildflower meadow. The seeds have been bought, fingers are crossed, here we go....

My 'grand' plan for the garden it to get the weeds back under control! I haven't been able to give the garden the time it needs over the last couple of years so the weeds are taking over.

There are brambles, nettles, hogweed, dock and cleavers galore along the boundaries - and creeping further and further in. So, it is out with the spade, the strimmer and brush cutter for me - no time for new plants or a veg patch like in other years.

I'm trying to do it all 'chemical free' which is making it more, shall I say, interesting... Thankfully, the goose grass (cleavers) is easily ripped up - and disposed of as I have a pony who can't get enough of the stuff in spring. Just a shame that the other weeds aren't so easy to remove and dispose of!

I'm planning on extending my pond and wildlife area, adding more raised beds for growing produce, and this year I am determined to grow a melon (if so it will be 3rd year lucky!).

Most of my garden has been given over to vegetables for the last few years. My goal this summer is to turn a section of it back into the beautiful space that it used to be, by resowing some lawn and creating some new flower beds. I want to include a place where my young grandchildren can either grow things or simply dig.

I'm moving into a new house soon. The grass is a mess with lots of moss. I'll try treating it, if that doesn't work I might have to re-lay it

imustbemadme Sun 30-Apr-17 20:17:48

Spent 5 hours in the garden today doing basic weeding and tidying and some planting, thinking I may not be able to move tomorrow. I want my garden to be full of flowers this year and I'd love to invest in a rattan sofa and chairs x

Daphne01 Sun 30-Apr-17 19:38:12

Just keeping it tidy would be great but we do want sone sort of play equipment for my great nephew and nieces. The borders could do with some colour too smile

CharlieMouse Sun 30-Apr-17 16:12:16

My garden goals for the summer are to have a decent lawn. So far it has been treated with moss killer and comprehensively scarified and today the resulting bald patches are being seeded. Fingers crossed for a lovely lush lawn come the summer months.

Need to buy a self-propelled cordless mower and/or find a reliable gardener.

trisher Sun 30-Apr-17 11:43:07

Well I've started! DS has cut back a thing with thorns on that was threatening to take over. Now I need to cut the grass/weeds that constitute the lawn. I would like a bench to stand on the patio but I'm hesitating to buy it because once I have it I will take a book out and watch the weeds grow! I would like some new pots and herbs and some plants to go in the border where the lilies I once planted are taking over. I'm not a gardener so ready made plants would be great, especially easy manageable ones.

seagull24 Sun 30-Apr-17 08:39:29

I have just ordered some vegetable plants so I need to buy some raised beds and hopefully I will be successful in growing my own this year.

marymod Sun 30-Apr-17 08:20:50

Firstly, we need to replace the fence and then take stock - some plants are taking over and there's big spaces elsewhere, so I'm looking for inspiration as to what to put there.

SheenaBatey Sat 29-Apr-17 23:43:07

I am hoping to keep the grass cut and plant some pots and annual bedding plants for a bit of colour.

I would like to have more BBQ THIS SUMMER. Hope we are going to have a sunny summer!!

Gadgaddy Sat 29-Apr-17 17:18:25

Well my ideal summer would include BBQ's and pimms with family and friends but 9 months ago we adopted a border collie named Maggie who's a wonderful girl BUT loves digging and so the garden looks like a bombs gone off, I'll have to try fill in all the holes first?

auntyann Sat 29-Apr-17 17:15:29

Money is tight at the moment so I would love to have some garden furniture and planters made from wooden pallets, so cheap but the finished products look stunning! A little herb garden would be lovely too

Isis1981uk Sat 29-Apr-17 15:48:13

We need to improve the grass - it's all yellow & mossy after Winter and trampoline sun-deprivation!

Flowerpower22 Sat 29-Apr-17 14:45:14

Earlier this year I visited the Yves St Laurent garden in Marrakech which has inspired me to create a blue corner with this pallet - I'm going to plant it up with yellow flowers.

SusanCh Sat 29-Apr-17 13:25:57

My aim for this year is to harvest my own strawberries and raspberries. I had raspberries last year but have never grown strawberries before

celticsoulbrother Sat 29-Apr-17 10:33:41

Don't have a garden as we are in an upstairs flat but we do put out lots of window boxes where we grow veggies and herbs and spices

ddraig123 Fri 28-Apr-17 22:45:49

I'd like to have some strawberries to pick in my garden.

Appy Fri 28-Apr-17 22:39:24

My Garden Goals are to grow as much organic fruit and veg as possible, and, where relevant, use only heritage seeds.
