I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered at my favourite place I don’t care if they have a wake or not it’s up to them I would rather they save the money I really don’t see the sense in spending lots of money on the dead when it’s the living that matter

They can do anything they want with me as long as I'm not cremated ... I'm terrified of fire. Something cheap and something cheerful and also not with the minister who did my dad's funeral who told everyone they were adulterers and all going to hell.

I want my family to do whatever gives them peace and closure. A simple ceremony, a few flowers and some favourite songs followed by a good party should suffice.

I haven't planned for my funeral yet as I feel I'm too young. But death comes to us all and at different ages. I may die tomorrow or in another 40 years. I keep meaning to get some sort of plan in place for both myself and my husband. But 'life' gets in the way.

i , personally, dont believe in funerals, why bother when the person is already dead, its so hypcritical, i want no wake, no flowers and no vicar as i am not religious

A no frills/no fuss/no religion/no weeping/no dressing in black service. I want to be cremated, as I hate being cold. Monty Python's Always Look on the Bright Side of Life to be played and I want everybody to join in singing my farewell. Then everyone goes off for a few dinks and nibbles afterwards, where my life is to be celebrated (not my loss mourned) and my stupid/silly deeds over the years laughed at. Then I want my ashes to be scattered in my favourite holiday destination, where I have holidayed since I was a child and have wonderful memories of.

I would like to be cremated and my ashes to be buried under a tree so in some way I am still alive and part of nature!

I also would like a cardboard box for a coffin, it seams a waste to burn nice wood. No really bothered about a religious service, but before I am cremated I would like them to play Ring of Fire, give everyone a smile hopefully

I've been very specific about my funeral-as I'm Scottish it is to be very personal to me. Everyone is to come with some kind of Tartan on. No one on black, rather in blue. Nobody sad-I am a joker in real life and wish to be reminded like this after my passing.
My entrance music is "Walk 500 miles" by the Proclaimers as that's my journey to Heaven-then as the curtain closes at the service, everyone to leave singing "Flower of Scotland"....make me very proud

Much rather have folk laughing and enjoying the get together than crying, so plan a bit of a knees up. I fancy the idea of writing my own eulogy telling them how much I've enjoyed my life and knowing them. Starting to think about some songs - Monkee's I'm a Believer springs to mind, but open to suggestions at this point!

Cheap as possible I dont hold with all these christian routines as I dont go to church in life so dont want it in death, just get me to the crem, and then scatter the ashes afterwards. Remember I am dead I dont care as long as my family have no bills to pay thats me happy

I don't want money to be wasted on my funeral, cheap as chips for me is what I would want my family to do with my blessing and none of this worry about catering for people. I'd like to think that people would rally round and take the load off my immediate family at such a time but most of all I hope it's way off!

I know my Lair number! In beside my husband in the town where I live. The Coop arranged his funeral and I hope they will do me the same honour.. Let the children and grand children enjoy a big meal and each others company for a while and reflect on the fact that they know I love them...

I would like to be cremated so that the family will never feel under an obligation to visit my grave. I shall leave the actual planning to them but have said many times that I don't want a lot of money to be spent, though I did once think it would be nice to have a walking jazz band. I would like to go through the curtain to the voice of Edith Piaff singing "No regrets".

The nicest funeral I attended had the coffin arriving in a vintage campervan, everyone wore colourful bobble hats. It was a fun and warm celebration. Something like this would suit me well.
