7/8 for me too. Also over cautious. It is so hard to spot what is genuine and what is not.

7 out of 8 but the survey is flawed because you can't tell if the phone numbers are genuine or not. I would always check phone numbers which purport to be from my bank and obviously I can't check the ones in the survey.

I got 5/8. I said no to 2 genuine messages so perhaps a bit over cautious, and yes to one which was a scam, so I need to do a bit more research. Thank you for this quiz, it was helpful.

I got three wrong but that’s because I would never call a bank number sent to me via text I would always always call my local branch on the number I know. But a very interesting quiz.

I got 7/8 however the one I got wrong I still would not have trusted!

Same as many others, 6/8 but I was over cautious about the two correct ones. We had a big problem with fraud a few years ago and it was horrendous trying to sort it out.

I only got 4 but again because I would not have recognised the phone numbers, so would have checked my on-line account directly or alternatively phoned using the approved number. I'm horribly suspicious!

Likewise, I erred on the side of caution. As I do not get notifications from my bank via my phone I found I was more cautious of these.

Scored 6 out of 8. Think I was being over cautious as I never trust anything. Always go in to my bank if I am not sure of an email or a text.

I misread a couple of questions so got a score that's making me blush, given that I work in IT!

I got 6 out of 8 through being overly cautious but would ring my Bank direct if unsure.

7/8 for me too. I’ve had money disappear from my bank account for an EE bill - I’ve never used EE and the bank refunded the payment immediately. But it seems to be getting easier for scammers and they’ll try anything to defraud us.

Had a friend who joined a dating site after losing her husband a couple of years before, and she had become besotted with a younger man she’d been chatting to, and was planning to meet at the weekend. (She was 60) She was telling me all about him and it set off alarm bells. I asked her if he’d asked her for money and she said no. I forgot about it and we went off for lunch. Lo and behold she got a frantic call during the meal from him, saying he’d lost his wallet and could she lend him £250 until the weekend when he’d pay it back. Gave his bank details and she was going to do it. I had to explain it was probably a scam and when we got back to her house, looked this guy up on the internet. Nothing. Checked his profile picture and found it had been stolen years ago from another internet site and used regularly on dating apps to commit fraud. She was gutted but she didn’t lose her money and she stopped all
Communication with him. So easy to get caught out tho, especially when you’re vulnerable.

I scored 7 out of 8 a bit over cautious on one question,even though it said it was genuine I still would not reply.

Also got 7/8 for the same reason as the other gnetters. Still, better to be over cautious.

This was a very useful exercise. I got 6/8, but had previously thought I was fairly savvy. Just shows how careful we all must be!

I got 7/8 with the same reason as many others. I wouldn't have texted back Y or N but would have phoned the bank on a trusted number.
