I scored 5 but think it is better to be over cautious.

I got 7/8...I fell for the plumber one as I thought a plumber could genuinely make a request like that. I now realise it's always best to call the person directly to make sure!

I got 7/8, identifying a genuine one as a scam. Don't feel too bad about it as erring on the side of caution is probably the next best thing to being completely on top of it.
The most obvious scam I had was a man saying he'd just had an overdelivery of beds and wanted to sell one to me cheap. He knew my address and could deliver it immediately. I gave him the chance to say it was a windup and told him I'd be reporting him if not.
It was a local number so I did tell the police, but they said they couldn't act until I told the telephone company, who in turn said they needed a crime number from the police, who in turn seemed very put-upon and mystified at the telephone company's reaction because they couldn't investigate without the company's permission. Sigh.

I got 8/8 but only because I have had some of the bank text messages before.

Another 7/8 here too. I was too cautious on a genuine one.

I got 7 as Im very cautious when it comes to text messages.

I only scored 6 out of 8, I was surprised as I consider myself usually to be savvy to all this kind of stuff!

I thought I would get them all correct but I actually got No6 wrong - just shows we all have to be vigilant - I think if in doubt I would go into my local branch or ring the number I know is correct

I scored 8/8. I'm genuinely suspicious of everything and if there's ever a number or login directly linked in the email text, I don't click it. Instead, I go directly to the website by typing the URL into my browser. I also work with computers, so that probably helps!

I got 7/8. The one I got wrong was a genuine one that I would have called directly outwith the message and queried, so I'm quite happy with that. I rarely receive any spam or phishing via my phone (maybe about twice a year) but I do have quite rigorous malware software set up on it which many people do for their laptops, etc but seem to forget when it comes to phones.

I got 8/8 which I'm pleased about. I did re-read a couple of the questions before answering though. I think if anything I'm inclined to be over cautious, which can surely only be a good thing!

So many of us were extra cautious on question 6. I think that can only be a good thing! Better safe than sorry, and I still think this could have been a phishing text.

Did this a couple of days ago, but didn't post. I got 8/8, and was surprised. Am posting now, so, fingers crossed.

PS. I got 7/8 only not recognizing that the message from the bank was genuine. My bank phoned me once on a Sunday afternoon and I wouldn't believe it was them

I used the HMRC website to do my tax form last year. Within 24 hours I had an email supposedly from a named person at HMRC asking me for personal information. I was immediately suspicious and looked up the HMRC contact details and sure enough it was a scam, they were very obviously used too it, but luckily I didn't fall for it
