We all have a dream destination that we’d love to travel to - somewhere where you’ve always wanted to go, but never got around to visiting. While some would love to go on Safari in South Africa, others would be happier lounging on the white sand beaches of Greece. Whether you’d like to travel near or far, there can be many barriers to travel. Perhaps you simply don’t have the time to travel, or think that the total cost of the trip might break the bank? Or maybe you have fears about not being able to speak the language, or your health not being protected while abroad? With this in mind, Staysure would love to hear from you.

Here’s what Staysure have to say: “At Staysure, we believe that if something’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right. That’s why our customers voted us the UK’s Best Travel Insurance Provider in the British Travel Awards.

We all want to be able to enjoy our holiday, knowing that we will be covered should something happen. We do not want to have to worry about possible repercussions and for that reason having good quality travel insurance should be a priority.”

If you could book a ticket right now, where in the world would you like to visit? What are the barriers that are stopping you from going (eg health, finances, mobility, fear of flying)? Is travel insurance important to you when booking a trip? Does travel insurance give you the piece of mind that you’ll be protected when abroad, or do you have some reservations about what will be covered.

So whether you want to take the trip of a lifetime or just a short weekend away, share below what it is that’s stopping you and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one lucky GNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I'd travel to Sotogrande in Spain. It's a stunning gated community with superb restaurants and a beautiful marina.

There are so many places I would love to visit, there is such a lot of world to see! I would love to go to Scandinavia and see the northern lights, I hope we will go one day.

I would love to go to Borneo to visit the orangutan sactuary. These are such lovely creatures and they do not deserve the appalling treatment of there habit being destroyed to farm palm oil.

I would love to go to Australia, many years ago my husbands grandparents and children emigrated there, when they arrived they picked a plot of land and built a wooden house. That was in a place called Wollongong. I heard many stories from them , when they left they lived in THe Lake District , there was an old man sitting on a gate, he shook his head and said ‘ you’ll be back’ many years later they returned, the old man was still sitting on the gate, he said I told you , you’d be back, My husbands grandma replied “ while you’ve sat there we have been twice around the world” The stories they told me always sounded fantastic Christmas dinner on the beach, spiders etc. I would really love to go to Australia, but my husband is now disabled so just a dream.

So many on my bucket list - Costa Rica and Peru are at the top of my list right now. I love going off the beaten track and there is so much to see and do in Peru, not just the Inca Trail but into the jungle and of course looking for the retirement home of Paddington's mother smile

I’d travel to Perth, Australia to see my brother

New York. I don't want to see it on my own though.

I can't travel due to a sort of claustrophobia on transport which I can't get of off. On the plus side my carbon footprint is amazingly low! But if I could I would dearly love to visit my son and family in California. I have always fancied Iceland and Canada too. I love Switzerland and Norway.

Florida all the time.

Japan its rather expensive and far so I'd ideally like to explore for a month or so.

Boysandchickens Thu 30-Jan-20 06:36:10

Not the most original of answers but I'd love to visit New York

emmal01 Thu 30-Jan-20 06:28:43

I’d love to visit the Northern Lights & yes travel insurance is a must!
Book it as soon as I’ve booked a trip so we are protected should anything happen
Only thing that stops me is being able to get my daughter on a plane, but we’re working on it....

I've always wanted to go to Namibia. It's just the fear of snakes that's stopping me!

compy99 Thu 30-Jan-20 06:23:07

My travelling days are over. I would have liked to have gone to the West Indies.

hugshelp Thu 30-Jan-20 06:01:52

I would love to do a tour of Europe. I'm not widely travelled at all and would love to do all the places closer to home first.

Michelleoliver Thu 30-Jan-20 05:59:42

Iceland my dream is to see the Northern lights if I'm lucky enough! Hopefully one day I'll get there.

Overthehill5 Thu 30-Jan-20 05:56:09

I would love to tour Austria, for the wonderful views and culture

prwilson Thu 30-Jan-20 05:52:06

I've always wanted to go to Japan - experience the culture, the mixture of traditional and modern.

mickaul747 Thu 30-Jan-20 05:48:04

Would love to go to Australia by sea but cannot afford it

Katyj Thu 30-Jan-20 05:18:25

Oh I would love to visit Australia and New Zealand. The cost and the fact I don’t enjoy flying are preventing me at the moment, but I live in hope.

BeHappy Thu 30-Jan-20 05:01:53

All of America would be amazing! The cost is a huge reason in not travelling, but I do think travel insurance is a must just in case.

kateloader Thu 30-Jan-20 03:48:42

I would lovely to travel to Iceland before travelling onto Canada. The Northern Lights, Blue Lagoon and Niagra Falls are places I want to visit.
