Please join us in conversation if you enjoy Wimbledon - it is just 2 weeks of the years and greatly enjoyed by it’s fans.

Have a lovely reunion Lucca!

If you find it boring, SJV07 that's perfectly fine. No real need to post it on a thread that clearly indicates is for fans of the game! There are numerous channels to watch if you want to avoid Wimbledon. Personally I can't stand Royal Ascot. I can't stand horse racing of any type. Cruel. Having horses I know a bit about the sport and it's not pleasant.

Back to Wimbledon, I now have a feeling about Djokovic. He will win in straight sets. It will be rather speedy. Then we have Emma and Andy to look forward to. Looks like it will be another great day

I couldn't agree more, SJV07. There's a sizeable portion of the population who don't follow tennis at any level. Why are we subjected to a fortnight's disruption of TV channels for the duration. Why can't the beeb allocate one Sports channel and confine all sport to that channel, endlessly and on repeat if necessary.
The rest of us do not want to be 'included'.

Thanks...

I tend to not enjoy tennis as much as I used to. They never smile any more, except emma Radicanu. They are to technical and there are only rare flashes of brilliance. I also can't bear watching Nadal and his OCD, not his fault I know but I find it so distracting, all the grunts and screams put me off too.

I miss the days of Borg, MacEnroe, Agassi et al.

Boring, boring, boring! Just pleased SW has gone. I Like Royal Ascot! Only a week, and not on both channels all day! Just too much when you are 'force-fed' it!

Lucca

I’ll catch up on iPad in bed later. Aussie family arriving today not seen GC since December 2018. Just throwing that one in ….bit irrelevant !!

How exciting!! It will be lovely to see them and emotional too (I'm getting quite tearful at the thought!).

Awww Lucca what a wonderful reunion. Enjoy those embraces and happy tears . ? ?

I’m waiting impatiently for live play today. Isn’t Wimbledon wonderful? I hope the UK players do well.

nadateturbe Wed 29-Jun-22 12:19:50

I'm so excited for you*Lucca*.
I hope you all have a wonderful time.x

Oh my goodness, I spent three hours last night watching Serena Williams and Tam what a fantastic match, I was on the edge of my seat. Tam deserved to win, make room for the younger players

Wow! What a nerve-shredding day of really 1st class tennis - Nadal, and then Serena. At times I thought Nadal wasn't going to get through. Cerundolo gave him a run for his money. He'll be someone to watch next year.

More tennis today. Will I never move off the sofa???

Looks like I'm on the sofa for the duration grin

LauraNorderr Wed 29-Jun-22 11:26:42

Just heard Ryan Peniston’s story. What a wonderful inspiration and story of hope for parents with babies and children going through cancer at the moment.
Such a courageous and lovely young man.

nadateturbe Wed 29-Jun-22 10:45:43

The little girl was lovely.

MayBee70 Wed 29-Jun-22 10:35:50

I wanted Tan to win because of that adorable little girl who was supporting her. What an exciting match. It was a blink and you miss it sort of game. So many twists and turns.

Grannybags Wed 29-Jun-22 10:22:06

I agree! I think they said 7 British players are through to the next round so won't be leaving the sofa any time soon!

Zoejory Wed 29-Jun-22 09:38:05

Looking forward to it! I'm also glued to the sofa. I think I was watching tennis for 10 hours yesterday!

JenniferEccles Wed 29-Jun-22 09:33:27

Murray and Norrie today!
Can we stand the excitement??
Actually it’s more nerves with me when I’m watching any of our players, or any others I support for that matter.

I agree Zoejory. The final could not be more exciting.
They were very well matched. I was so happy for Harmony, what an achievement.

Callistemon21 Tue 28-Jun-22 23:21:52

Thanks, I might be able to find it tomorrow.

nadateturbe Tue 28-Jun-22 23:15:19

We watched it. It was really exciting. I hope you manage to see it * Callistemon*.

Zoejory Tue 28-Jun-22 23:13:33

The Serena match had me getting quite hot and bothered. I really wanted her to win but Harmony Tan was exceptional. They both were. Would have made a brilliant final.

Serena was actually 4-0 up in the tie break in the 3rd set but just couldn't keep up the momentum.

Callistemon21 Tue 28-Jun-22 23:09:06

Serena is out of Wimbledon, beaten by Harmony Tan.

As we didn't see the end of the match I've been trying to find it on iPlayer, without success.
BBC coverage is very frustrating this year!

Sorry JenniferEccles, I have moaned about the BBC coverage but not the tennis. ?

JenniferEccles Tue 28-Jun-22 23:00:53

I just want to say when I started the Wimbledon 2022 thread I had hoped to read comments from other tennis fans, but was disappointed to see that the usual “I hate tennis “ posts started to creep in.
I honestly don’t know why people bother to say that.
Those of us who are tennis fans aren’t remotely interested in hearing from those who hate it.
Haven’t they got anything better to do?

Millie22 Tue 28-Jun-22 21:49:38

I have just looked at the wrong thread I think. People moaning about tennis so bit confused but it was with the title Wimbledon.

Anyway thank goodness Rafa won his match.
