never have worn makeup except when i go out in the evening or somewhere special e.g. a wedding. but i have moisturised since i was abouy 12, i have been lucky as i have good skin, though its now starting to look older! Neither of my daughters wear makeup regularly either.

I moisturise and use eyliner, a touch of shadow and mascara nearly every day. On the days when I need to look 'better' I use Clinque's tinted moisturiser. It's really good. I don't use much lipstick. It never stays on so I use Elizabeth Arden's Eight hour tinted lip gloss.

I'm in the no make up make up camp and usually use Bobbi Brown who goes in for the natural look enhancing your natural features but with added sunscreens and moisturisers. I dont wear make up at home but just a good moisturiser and a lick of mascara but if my eyelash tint is relatively new I go without that too. My husband won't kiss me if I have lipstick on he says ' Yuk whale blubber' so that's an end to that romantic moment. Sometimes I pin him down and give him a good lipsticking - that fixes him

Soltan range in Boots have just brought out a F30 facial sunscreen which is pretty good. Not too greasy. Clinique is another possible place to look for products.When out in NZ I buy a F 30 for face made by a company called Hamilton. This gives a matt finish.
Top 2 skincare things are definitely don't smoke, wear sunscreen, wear a hat, aren't they. Being properly hydrated also helps to plump things up. (I dont mean swigging gallons of water, a few big mugs of tea does it for me)

I am with you glammanana, I like to use a lip liner under my lipstick. Mind you I never used to wear lipstick when I was younger until I had a sun spot on my lip and the skin specialist told me to wear lipstick so I have since. I believe makeup protects my skin from burning in the sun and I use a natural mineral make up and some mascara, my lip liner and lipstick. I don't wear makeup if I am staying home or just popping up to the local shops. I also tint my own eyebrows as I am fair and my eyebrows are a non colour if I dont tint them.

I had a look at the Clarins tinted moisturiser but it is only SPF 6 and I need a good deal more than that because five years in Africa left me with quite a lot of sun damage some of which is only coming to light after 40-odd years.

I very rarely wear make up and once when I was all "done up" a friend who I have known for years walked straight past me. When I called her she said "you do up quite well"!

You need something, apart from polyfilla, to fill in the 'fine lines' which appear when you smile or laugh. I try not to do both these days!!! Recently when I had a eye problem and looked like a red eyed panda, it was commented that I looked really run down and washed out without any makeup. So makeup for me.

Annobel,ask one of the girls on the cosmetic counters to let you try
a lip liner in a colour 2 shades darker than any lipgloss or lipstick
that should help keep the colour longer,and as before I recommend
Clarins tinted Moisturizer it is fab for mature skin and the colour stays
12 hrs.

Thanks, townie, I will have a scrounge round the beauty counters and see what I can find. My lips are pale as well as my face.

Personally, I would give it up and use a tinted balm - lots of great ones about at moment - re-applying it as necessary. Long-last lipsticks always have a very powdery, aging texture, in my experience.

Moisturiser with SPF 30, since the episode of the melanoma seven years ago. And since I'm a naturally pallid person, foundation and a trace of blusher. I have trouble getting lipstick to stay on. Any ideas?

Somewhere in between. Certainly don't wear it every day and don't really understand why anyone would want to - but everyone's different.

On the other hand, I do always use good moisturisers, serums, and sun protection on face, and lip balm every day, and have my lashes and brows tinted, so no need for mascara unless I feel like a little (choose the most natural looking types).

Several times a week, eg, when going to London, usually enjoy using a bit of 'no make-up make-up' - tinted moisturiser, concealer if needed,lip shine, neutral cream eye shadow). But don't feel naked if I don't have the time.

I think heavy make-up of any kind, glitter, and bright colours are incredibly aging so stay away from them.

Nice idea, jangly but I've never considered myself a beauty. However, if people are to be believed, I have 'a memorable face'! You can interpret that how you like but what springs to mind is: one without make-up! I've always been an active outdoorsy sort of person, walked or cycled to work all my life and I liked to be able to slosh cool water on my face at any time, so make-up just never fitted into the scheme of things. If you've never worn it, you don't miss it.

Some mineral powder foundation plus smoky grey eyeshadow and mascara with a bit of lipgloss. Probably more aware of eye makeup since I stopped wearing glasses a couple of years ago.

I'm with you goldengirl, have always put my face on - schoolgirl, student, teacher, headteacher, grandma, me! It's not false it's me.

really natural beauties,I have to have at least Clarins tinted moisturizer and
lipstick and a bit of mascara,but I go every six weeks for eyelash tint and
brow shape and nails,but to be honest I have always done this out of
habit and not vanity of any kind,and I like to go to the salon and keep up with all the girls I have got to know who go there

Oh my goodness! I don't feel dressed unless I've put my face on! The only time I don't wear makeup is after swimming and when I go to bed. It may not be the full works, but it will be something otherwise I look over 100

Very rarely;only if I'm going somewhere posh (which is about 3x a year}but always feel uncomfortable and rush home to remove it. Friends say, when I do wear it ' Oooh you look so different' . Not quite sure whether to take it as a compliment or not......

I used to wear just lipstick and mascara, but since retirement, not even these.
I don't use products on my skin apart from factor 30 lotion in the sun.
