My two youngest GS are getting christened on Sunday, I need to have a spray tan or get some fake tan! But I have never done either,I have no idea what to use. Can anyone recommend something that is easy for a beginner.

My legs are like milkbottles and its too warm to wear tights.

Have you tried hold-ups...cooler than tights.
I've got milkbottle legs too, tried self tan and ended up with streaky legs!blush

Thats what I am worried about.

I think it's supposed to be cooler by Sunday smile

Don't do it! How about a good exfoliation and some lovely body cream - you can get ones with shimmer- a nice blusher and you will look glowing and healthy. have a good daysmile

How about a long, loose floaty skirt?

Dress is quite long so not much of my legs on show, think I am afraid to try anything and make a mess grin

I have just taken my own advice and feel nice now even though I have corned beef legs. Clinique Sparkle skin takes off all the dead skin that make it look dull and then Clinique Body butter for a nice lush look (I have nice daughters who buy it for pressies for me). Wear your best bling and a big smile- it will be finesmile

Oh nice pressies susie, wear my bling and hope they dont look down grin

I have used st tropez in the past and have found it quite good. although i also bought one called make believe that smells all tropical and banana-ey in a good way. These are both absurdly expensive so I wouldn't recommend them if you're watching the pennies!

The best tip I have is to WASH YOUR HANDS afterwards INCLUDING in between your fingers and all the way onto your wrists!

And you have to use a bar of soap, not a bottle with a pump - it just doesn't do the job for some reason.

Thanks effblinder have seen that advertised, but I think you need a personal recommendation.

What happened to using brown boot polish - or am I showing my age.

susiecb Thu 04-Aug-11 13:54:46

you could try Bisto!

My Mum and her sister used to use gravy browning, during the war, to 'tan' their legs and then use an eyeliner pencil to make the seam! She said it worked very well as long as it didn't rain wink

lucid rain forecast for Sunday, so its either milk bottles, or streaky fake tan or streaky gravy browning.... decisions.. decisions! grin

I use Johnsons Holiday Skin Body Lotion. A lovely natural looking tan that you can use every few days or so to get the required degree of tan. Us it before bed and wake up to tanned legs!
