Moisturisers and eczema

Aside from using moisturizers, I also paid attention to my eczema diet as well.

I read that an article by a dermatologist in which she said she always uses La Roche Posay I 've been using it since as products with lanolin don't worK for me but glycerine based produts do. Boots stock it

I treat the eczema patch I get on my eyelids with vaseline and it seems to get rid of it. Some eyeshadows have zinc usually the metallic ones so best avoided. E45 is still excellent for keeping skin moisturised as a preventative.

I agree Carol Aveeno is brilliant for dry skin, only cream I can get DH to put on his skin.

Aveeno colloidal oatmeal moisturising products have got rid of my 15 year eczema problem. The moisturising cream is great for my face, arms and legs and the shower cream leaves your skin feeling fantastic. They have it at Boots and some other pharmacies.

Asked at the pharmacy today about a patch of eczema that appears on my right eyelid every now and then. He recommended aqueous cream so I'm going to give it a try. My daily moisturiser is Boots Intensive Care cream (no perfume) as I have always had very dry skin and it's not getting 'moister' with age.

I use aqueous cream as a daily moisturiser and Ultrabase emollient cream when the eczema flares up. Never had any problems with aqueous cream though, although it does have sodium lauryl sulphate in it, which some people seem to think is best avoided.

They are both basically parafinns. Ultrabase has other extras.

My skin is like that too Mamie and very sensitive. I use E45 cream every night and during the day if it feels tight. It was recommended by a dermatologist years and years ago and I've used it ever since.
