that should be when I haven't tended to the nails!! - my fingers are dyslexic today.

Knee-highs with "dressy" trousers, socks with jeans in the winter. I have found Sainsbury's light support knee highs seem to last quite well, only
poke my toe through when I have "tended" to the nails!!

I wear knee-highs or socks most of the time with trousers-bare feet in summer -I don't have your problem but I do have a regular pedicure and keep toe-nails well- trimmed.

Must admit that I'm selective with the fake tan.......well if no one sees it.......grin[

Perish the thought, Sel! I wouldn't be seen dead outside the house in my slippers...hmm

Sel Tue 14-May-13 23:19:47

Ariadne me too on the knee high fake tan plus a touch round the, ahem, décolletage smile

Sel Tue 14-May-13 23:18:12

Ana have you been spending too much time with Pete? Stumbling home maybe in your slippers? grin

Ana Tue 14-May-13 18:47:00

Goodness, hope you don't have an accident and have to be rushed to hospital, Ariadne! shock

Ariadne Tue 14-May-13 18:44:25

Me too for socks in winter and nothing in summer - with a bit of knee high fake tan!

Ana Tue 14-May-13 18:32:46

Strangely, my toes don't go through socks but they do through slippers...confused

I wear black tights but they don't last long. My toes go through them or after they've been washed they just go into holes. I think they must be deliberately made not to last.

I wear a lot of black trousers so I buy black ankle socks that don't fold over. They aren't tight on my ankles or move around. When you cross your legs you might show some skin.

I'm with Sel and HildaW, its socks in the Winter and nothing in the Summer , can't bear the feel of tights type material on my legs.
I had to smile when I read too..

HildaW Tue 14-May-13 16:20:23

Daisy, yes they are made for women - I tried them but they tend to go a bit droopy around the ankles and if worn with smart trousers look a bit shabby.

I often see adverts for socks with non-elastic tops, which are better for people with diabetes. But they nearly always specify that they are for men! Why? Last time I looked, babies' feet were not distinguishable according to gender. Women have diabetes too.

HildaW Tue 14-May-13 15:53:21

Sel ditto, I buy decent quality thin socks to wear - knee highs etc cut into my legs right where I have a few nasty veins so its not a good idea to wear them. Once the sun is out !!!! its sandals and I treat myself to a proper pedicure complete with madly gay varnish!

Sel Tue 14-May-13 15:50:37

Don't know why but this made me laugh - possibly visualising these naughty footies creeping up your leg or exposing white leg smile

Personally I wear socks in winter and nothing in summer - on my feet that is.

Hi all

I normally wear knee highs under trousers but am sick of the fact I am always poking my toe through them so they rarely last.

I was wondering about going over to footies, does anyone wear these? Do they keep up your leg? Do they expose white leg sometimes?

Failing this, an recommendations for knee highs that last longer than one wear.

Ta very much
