Madrigal I tried the leg spray once and got it absolutely everywhere! How do you apply it, please??

I use Olay tan on my face and neck, and Dove everywhere else.

I remember an unfortunate party in the 80s where I wore a white dress and used fake tan. I'm afraid I got rather drunk (I was a student!) and the next morning I looked a bit smudged (euphemism) and I had to throw the dress out.

Oh, the joys of feckless youth! It was a great party though as it took place in the summer holidays at a boys' school in Helmsley in Yorkshire where a friend's father was the head. Won't ever forget that fake tan related incident...

Glam and Madrigal,Thanks for advice. I have tried the lotions but found the smell annoying, tho I believe there are some now that dont have a smell. How I remember smelling like a horse in 1968 when ambre solaire brought out the first self tanning cream!! I will definitely give the leg spray a go.

I use Sally Hansen's spray leg make up for a nice smooth finish. It is really flattering and evens out and covers odd age marks. I use 'fair' as I'm a pale redhead, but there are other tones available plus a bronzey tan as well. It's sold in Boots.

Atqui have you thought of using one of the many body lotions with the built in sunshimmer such as Nivea or Johnston's they build up to give a nice even touch of colour and you can use it after every shower for a nice glowing effect.

I believe that spray tans have improved and one does not have to have hugely artificial looking colour these days. I can ask advice at a salon of course, but was wondering if anyone had any personal experience . I do not wear skirts above the knee (indeed no skirts at all in the winter), and certainly not shorts. I have not yet reached the stage of hiding my legs away despite uneven skin tone, but would like to wear a dress without tights!

Agree Absent, my legs have never been my best feature (varicose veins at 25 and legs are a bit 'sturdy' so its Maxi skirts of trousers. In summer I think well cut but loose trousers look far smarter than a short skirt if your legs are really not that special.

I think spray tans, even on smooth, unblemished young skin look exactly that - a spray tan - not a natural skin coloration. I suspect that a spray tan on blemished skin would look exactly that too. Sorry.

Not to sure how the final effect would look like as the normal procedure is to exfoliate all the "creased" area's of the body prior to treatment ie,the knee's/elbows I would worry that maybe the area's would hold to much colour and be very noticeable. Can you not ask at the salon ? but they are not going to advise you not to have it are they as it's business.

I'm thinking of having a spray tan but have quite a lot of blemishes on my legs -age spot type things. Wonder if anyone knows how these would react.
